Was about to compliment comix4fun for a nice post about being responsible when you post something. But the thread, it no longer existed - which is impossible because I was sure I had just read it. Now I understand what the East Germans dissidents were talking about during the cold war.

Super transaction. Comics were at least as nice as promised, got here quickly and very well packaged, updated on shipping on every step. Thanks Dwayne. Great books, and thanks again for the Comic Reader (full of nostalgia) and the extra FF giant size, cool Byrne artwork!

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
grebal replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Maybe playing with 'house money?' Many "keys" have doubled or more in past year or three - geez, I was recently forced (well, moved) to sell a CGC 9.4 SME 15 when the market price reached what I considered lofty, at over 500% what I'd paid perhaps 15 mos earlier. That's probably an exceptional case, I know, but there's a ton of 'let it ride' money looking for tomorrow's candidates. The 'investment' in these speculative plays doesn't necessarily reflect only earned income. -
Tourists. eyeroll. wink.

Hell yeah, we even do weird BIGGER down here. Is Buckey's the highway kids attraction with lots of signs along the highway? "Buckey's 20 miles away." Coming in 17 miles. Coming in 10 miles. You passed it 1 mile back.

I see the attraction of the 'love it or leave it.' You can't fight a tidal wave. I loved NY for 47 years, but since 2011 came to love Texas better. The tacos alone. Plus, no snow. : D

Top or front loader? Have you tried kicking it, but from the back this time? No idea on the CT, here's the inside of front cover - nothing bleeding through, so CT must have been done by someone at least a skilled amateur. Seller told me, and it looks too black and shiny so fails the 'smell test.' PS- look at the cool, fake, Ditko, written on splash. Imagine this book in a CGC case P.L.O.D.: "Stan Lee written on cover. S. Ditko written bottom of splash". . .

^ heard you guys might have the bubonic plague. ; ) Hold Avengers 196 a little longer. What do you all think of the COLOR TOUCHED high grade looking copy of ASM 28 I recently obtained?:

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
grebal replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Yeah. On the bright side, it's easy to follow what's heating up in the bronze section if we stick to temperaments and Hulk 180 v 181. -
Pardon my ignorance, but what looks like a pic of centerfold appears to show continuity of story from the left page to the right page. So what pages would be missing, if not center wraps? Do any experts on this book recognize that the picture shown is/is not the appropriate centerfold? I understand there are other (more complicated)ways to have missing pages.

I loved your Robots thread almost as much as I love Raze's thread ("almost" being a word for which I invented my own definition).

LAFF-A-LYPICS on page 1. Marvel, of all things. Though it's not 'hot' any more, the movie fell through, Shaggy knocked up Velma. Sorry Sharon, the comment about "sold by PM" was a gag.

Reptiles once educated me on folly of buying sight unseen - but once you get to the high-end grades, what else would there be to complain about but the wrap? A year ago when I whined to one particular reptile I was advised to get over it (my OCD-like avoidance of the white stripe of ). But then some habits die hard, especially when buying slabs mainly out of self indulgence. Oh, and reptiles = a more polite or sophisticated name for lizards. And, bump. Good thread. : )
