  8. Its the "name wrtiten in marker" thats causing the grade drop.
  9. Yeah, I think Venom and Thor are setting records with the sales of later printings. A lot of retailers still haven't caught on to their rising popularity. Most LCS in my area only buy 1 or 2 copies of 2nd, 3rd prints, etc. Some will only order them to fill requests by subscribers. Thinking of off loading my 1-26 run of Venom but they are all first prints and these days it seems like first prints are less in demand. Its like something from the twilight zone!
  10. CGC shipping boxes arent required for anything, its just an additional item they are selling. You can send one or multiple comics anyway you want.
  11. LOL that list is way to short...see I already found something else we can argue about. =D
  12. Would that make Death Metal 2 also the death of BWL? Or first transformation of BWL? This will soon be followed by the first appearance of the Really Darkest Knight (RDK)
  13. Hey there you should check out the Newbie collecting section https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/93-newbie-comic-collecting-questions/ and this post
  14. Wrong book. They are talking about the last page of the new Death Metal #2
  15. Matt will grade it appropriately, the guy running the slabbing machine will load the wrong label.
  16. You dont get charged until the books ship, at that point CGC will apply any credit you have towards grading costs. The credits will not be applied towards shipping and handling, pressing etc. Any unused credits will remain and be applied to future orders.
  17. There is a premium for having the book graded. A key issues graded will sell for more than the same book ungraded, generally for the very reason you mentioned, ie the grade is known and established. Sometimes you will get people who dispute the grade on the book based on their own opinions. Around here people tend to "buy the book, not the slab" Unfortunately the answer to your question remains, It depends.
  18. Green label. They (or one of their agents) have to personally verify any signature that gets a yellow label. Sounds correct to me!
  19. Has nothing to do with capitalism or marxism. It has to do with trying not to kill an innocent person and doing the right thing to be a decent human being. Good luck chasing your profits when you kill off your customers.
