  1. Another thread that slipped through the cracks for me Picked this copy up from the boards sometime last year and did all the research to make sure it was legit. Not my most expensive book but one of my favorite books to own
  2. 4+ years and I’d never seen this thread until now. I knew I had a copy lying around somewhere...could use some work but still happy to own one
  3. What’s the story now with Spotlight 8, 1st Mister E? A few weeks ago copies were going for 50 bucks but it looks like it’s cooled off...a lot
  4. 7.5 8.0 with a cleaning of the white areas. Books are getting banged for dirt/stains
  5. 5.5-6.0 looks like some color breaks made it to the white part of the spine
  6. I’m leaning 6.0 too is that a light moisture on the upper right back cover?
  7. Reminds me of the episode “Gather Ye Acorns” from Amazing Stories
  8. I’d spread it out to get the best copy I could of Incredible Hulk 1, X-Men 1 and Amazing Fantasy 15 with an FF #5 if I had anything left over
  9. Getting it cleaned and pressed may bump it up a full grade, imo. That white could be so much brighter on the front and back
  10. 8.5 back cover really shows the majority of the defects on an otherwise sharp book. Kind of wavy too but I think that’s common with moderns
  11. That’s a nice looking book. I can see a 7.5 or better with a good cleaning of the back cover
  12. 8.5 as it sits; 9.0 with a press because of the soft corners
  13. From what I’ve seen, the sealed packs sell for a premium but if I’m a seller, I could maximize my profits if there’s a potential high grade key to be slabbed in there. Removing a key book and getting a certified 9.4 or better is a gamble I’d take.
  14. Until recently, missing pieces like value stamps and coupon cut outs normally got green labels with a notation of the affecting flaw but it’s become so common that graded copies of books like IH 180 and 181 missing the stamps are getting universal blue labels where the missing piece is noted on the label. I would assume your book would get a qualified grade (graded as if the defect wasn’t there with a notation) or a lower universal grade with a note and whether it affects the story or not. I, personally wouldn’t mind getting a definitive answer but some things are so inconsistent that you just gotta go with the flow and accept that it’s just how it is
  15. Which is exactly when I sold off my collection and never looked back
  16. Can’t believe this is the first time I’ve seen this thread but what the heck, I’m in
