    Anyone can buy a press, put a book in and have it come out looking better than it did going in, but if you run into a problem, how do you fix it? It's like someone who can take out and put in car parts doesn't mean you can call yourself a mechanic.

    That's exactly it...Had a JSA Classified 1 that looked like a 9.8 but it had a blister on it...came back 9.4.

    No, they shouldn't be granted 9.9/10.0 People over think the 9.8 grade. It's NM/MT meaning it's nicer than a NM and close to MT, which means small defects are allowed. 9.8 isn't the same as MT. I see people complain all the time, "How can this be a 9.8 with this 1/1000th of an inch spine crease??

    Printing is a dirty job, like being a car mechanic. Pressman has ink on his hands, picks up a copy, checks the quality and places it back on the skid with the rest of them, fast forward 50 years..."hey, what are all these smudges"?

    I'd go with the Detective 880, I can see that book hitting a 1000 in 9.8. Can't go wrong with a classic Joker Detective cover.
