It's fine.
Realistically it's less about the carrier and more about how it's shipped. If the box can't support at least a 35lb weight on any side, you need to reinforce it more.

Anyone know why a potential buyer wouldn't be able to make an offer on a listing that has Best Offer enabled (with no minimum)? Is it because they've got strikes against them or fall under my buyer requirement stipulations (e.g., x number of cancellations within x months, locations, etc.)? Someone supposedly says they can't put in an offer and want me to do it on my end by lowering the price on a listing...is it a scam?
You're not set to vacation mode are you? That can be set to block offers while away.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. It's definitely longer than I'd like to see between tracking updates, but it's not uncommon Registered doesn't get tracking updates. Also keep in mind much of the country has been hammered by storms in the past two weeks. There's likely been a lot of delays here and there not to mention the holiday package traffic is probably only now back to a normal pace.

As a long time EverQuest player, some of those are amazing. Wish I had the scratch to buy those.

I had an issue with a payout about a year ago not going through too. They were quick to rectify it and gave me a discount code as an apology.
I don't really use them often, but the people behind it seem like good people.

As a huge peddler of exclusives, I wonder if this is a sign of the times that they aren't much of a money maker anymore.

Stupid question, but did you talk to the PO that you dropped it off at? It's possible the address label got ripped off and it's still there in holding. I'd try the same at your local PO distribution hub.

Rare? Sure. Valuable? No.

5% eBay Bucks right now. Can couple that with 2% from the Capital Ones Shopping App.

They are kidding themselves. You think Paypal wants to send out 1099s.
I believe it's because Zelle acts more as a wire transfer than a payment processing center like PayPal. Yes it's basically the same thing, but the letter of the law apparently is written so Zelle can loophole around it.

What happens? Do they return the package?
If postage is bought online, they generally just charge your card/shipping client the cost of priority. Otherwise they will make the receiver pay the difference at the post office.

Yeah seems like it - I was hoping to find some cool sales of ppls personal collection books or a bunch of digging through their long boxes but that’s not been my experience.
From what I've seen, people who sell on whatnot aren't your small personal collectors.

Currently, books with newton rings are still handled on a case by case basis. So, you would have to send pics to submissions@cgccomics.com
Hi Mike,
Question for you. I was getting ready to resubmit 2 Newton ring comics when I realized I have two others I'd like to submit. One has what appears be a pen mark and the other has what looks to be a sharpy mark on the covers. Being 9.8 and 9.6 respectively which means that that had to have come from CGC. Now both marks could be something that is not actually pen/sharpy, but something removable and stuck on the cover which is what I'm hoping. My question is what happens if they reslab as a ME and they get a grade ding from something that had to have occurred during the original slabbing? I'm the original owner of both, but both were submitted from a dealer account that's been well over 2 weeks ago.

How does something like that even happen with Registered Mail? Supposedly under lock and key the whole way with each person to handle it signing it out. Not so much a CGC error as a USPS error but I feel your pain!
What I want to know is how this did not go to a PO Box.

Have you tried to redirect the package using Package intercept since it hasn't been delivered.
I think you would be able to correct the delivery address that way since you are redirecting it to the correct zip code.
I second this. I believe it costs like $15, but they can definitely redirect.

They use to sell bulk batches of I believe 650 for about $0.50 a piece. The 270 for $200 is the best I've seen right now which equates to $0.75 a piece.
Have you tried contacting them? I know bulk sales they say to contact them directly.

Shipping cost have quickly become quite the issue. Shipping 1 book via First Class has crept up to be $4.15 - $4.50 depending on how far away the buyer is but let's average it to $4.25 for one book. Gemini mailers have gone up and I'm having no luck finding anyone who is selling them in bulk (300 and more) any longer so they are $0.75 a piece. Bubble wrap will cost $0.05 for each package so it's $5.05 even before you factor in fees issued by E-Bay on mailing cost (12%). So it's quickly approaching $5.50 to ship one book and shipping prices seem to be going up quite quickly when you ship a couple books (especially to CA). I charge $5.00 currently and feel I have to go up to $5.50 especially since the prices realized are dropping fast. I refuse to go the media mail route since shipping times go up so fast (especially around the Holidays) and the post office can screw with the package. My price to ship one book was $4.00 for the longest time and $5.50 just seems prohibitive especially for sub $15 books.
Umm do you know Gemini sells them directly in bulk?

So, I have been speaking with management about the 2 week window for ME's. I do have some good news. This pertains to all books. You do not have to be the submitter, and there is no time limit. You can fill out a submission form with the Mechanical Error option. A prepaid shipping label will automatically be sent to you. (Non US customers will have to contact customer service for the shipping label) We will fix books listed below for free in the "Fix for no charge" column.
FIX NO CHARGE:
Wrong label information
Book inserted wrong
Book pinched between inner well seal
Debris inside holder
REHOLDER/REPAIR FEE:
Holder scratches
Cracked/damaged holders
Damaged books
Great news, thank you for helping to make this happen.
Out of curiosity, where do newton rings fall in this!

I was tempted (for about half a second) during CGC's black friday sale to get a Premium Membership for $99 in order to get the $150 credit for grading.
It took me that half a second to remember everything I've seen in this thread, and all the ways CGC could screw up the books it's taken me decades to acquire.
There's simply no way in hell I'm letting that happen.
Essentially the black Friday deal was just adding back the 10% member discount for 25 books.

Edit: it only seems to do it on the app
Just tried it myself. That's weird. It's the word "subscription".

Interesting. So places like MCS don't have to deal with 1099s?
