  1. My personal belief here: The epic "crash and burn" you mention is entirely to scary for a lot of people. Thus nobody wants to discuss it. It's scary to me.
  2. if i track it down here in this thread, and I could be wrong (I did it late last night) , Cal quoted you about IMSM 1 HERE from some OTHER thread about if a house fire was real or not. Did you speak of IMSM 1 on a thread about the realities of a house fire?
  3. I sure didn't mean to cause a fuss by creating this thread. Enough fussing around here. I was just bored out of my head at LAX at 2am waiting for a 6am flight and I couldn't concentrate in reading a book because of all the piped in noise and, well, there was an Avengers movie on the monitors.
  4. Agreed. However, I find all the superhero movies tedious. Watching them is like watching my nephew play video games. Than why do you watch them some may ask? Because after the machine gets everyone that wants to buy a ticket to see the movie they proceed to cram the movies down everyone's throat that didn't want to see the movie. For free. It becomes impossible to turn away. I've been forced to watch these movies on airplanes, on monitors in line at Tagret and on monitors atop the gas station gas pump. The only solution is to rip your eyes out and than proceed to rip your ear drums out which have often thought of doing just to get away.
  5. I can't help but agree with this. I just find the films themselves sooooooo bad.
  6. I collect what I like. That being said, I think IMSM is a WAY cooler book than IM 1 or SM1. If I had the cash, seriously, I would be all over that IMSM 1 cover art that was (is?) for sale.
  7. Cal reminds me of the insanity of Dr Gene Scott and that of Scott's rabid followers. That's all. Every time he post, Dr. Gene Scott's unhinged late night UHF television appearances is all I can think of. They are that similar to me. Like I said somewhere around here, I've got a raw IMSM around a 6.0. It's a cool cover, cool story. That's about my interest in it. EDIT: - Mind you that YouTube clip of Dr. Gene Scott is from the brilliant Wernner Herzog documentary God's Angry Man.
  8. Blah, blah, blah movies. I still don’t understand how this superhero film trend continues. I see the movies. Generally on airplanes. They’re insufferable. I’ll probably see some more on a trip overseas in about two weeks. I’m that bored and trapped. I said the same thing about reality tv in the early 00s when it was starting to become popular. It’s so dumb how can it last? But look at it now. So invest up in those movie books.
  9. Wonder what it was that created that AF15 mania about a year and a half ago?
  10. you wonder how the guy got an in with Stan Lee. Having cared for my elderly mother-in-law it's sometimes beyond difficult. Bring millions of dollars into the equation. My God.....

  12. the cabinet's a nice touch. you know it's a high dollar item if it's behind glass. seeing this photo makes me wanna make the effort next time to get there.
  13. I'm gonna be traveling. I'm kinda bummed to miss it as I think it's a great idea and I want to support it, however, traveling thru Europe for the entire month of July ain't a bad 2nd place idea.
  14. Thanks. I think about the same things and in the photography world (another hobby of mine) they refer to this as “ aquisition disorder.” And I have it. But somehow I keep it in check in the comic hobby. Go figure.
  15. waiting to read Dracula until after my visit. I imagine it's a bunch of tourist traps along the lines of, "Dracula slept in this castle." At least I'll have a first hand appreciation of the landscape.
  16. I love Gene Scott and yes Cal acts like his followers from his posts here to his goofy You Tube videos. Being a human being getting along in the world for 52 years I'm well aware of acquired tastes, however, whenever someone brings up the "acquired taste" bit I always think of that great Harry Dean Stanton line in that amazing movie Twister (the brilliant Michael Almereyda film w/ Crispin Glover not the dumb Spielberg movie): "You could acquire a taste for eating dirt but who would want to?"
  17. I"m serious about how great MK (1981 series) was issues around #24 - 30. I can see why it's so fondly remembered today and people are itching for a movie or teevee show or whatever
  18. You need to turn it up to 11, my friend. Dr. Gene Scott, who kinda reminds me of you:
  19. I'd love to respond but my wife is calling me to do the dishes from bkfast. Somehow I picture you as a follower of the great TeeVee preacher Dr. Gene Scott. You sure act like them. Like I said, dirty dishes await.
  20. I’d love a thread bashing me! FYI I’m gonna press my 6.0 to a 9.2. So much for your short sightedness
  21. No. $550.00. But with your bad attitude I will not sell it to you for any price. Therefore you never own all of them so good luck sleeping at night knowing my 6.0 is in a long box in my closet. Noman is the Greatest Comic Book Collector in the world. FACT!
