My current struggles with Fedex on some graded books being returned. Note I live in Phoenix. I was certain they were stolen from the local hub, but they now seem to be on a truck making its way along I-20. This suggests that when you open a case with them they have some very accurate GPS data that normal tracking doesn't tie in to. Thankfully this isn't a five figure consignment on its way to HA.

Anyone have any more suggestions or recommendations based on completed work from the list of folks above? I just got a sunned piece of OA that really needs lightening. Thanks

Same, lots of pre-auction interest and just no desire to spend money today for some reason. And the auctioneer knew that some stuff was taking a dive. He kept on that Segrelles for a long time and was stating values mid lot, like "this is a 10k piece guys" on something stalled at 6k. And he was right, I thought. Not sure why bought the first Segrelles page they ever auctioned a few years back for north of 40k, but they can't feel great right now. Maybe the tear and dedication held the price back on that cover, or its limited market use? It was also used on a book by Gary Gygax on gaming!! Quite the real estate. edit: Just saw what the Kirby 2001 page did, wow! Strong price I think. Yes its movie conan and Treasury Edition (not the weird offshoot) but its a pretty calm page all things considered, for 30k

So far the few lots I had on watch seem light today, the Gimenez pages, the Moebius page. I suspect consigning the entire first Metabarons book had to drag on prices a bit. The Segrelles also seemed very cheap.

True, it could still break 5 figures. I swallowed my tongue when the baseball card sized Darkwolf Fire and Ice prelim (Jaguar God 2) got 10k, and that was 2016.

At first I thought you were right, then I wondered how you are meant to depict someone of African descent in a comic, then I decided it would be done by the colorist and not the inker. Or...is this actually a kid in blackface??

Curious if this will kill the market for graded vinyl or not. Ditto for the graded RPG items that are now hitting the auction block. Early days for both before a market is established or... The vitriol the RPG folks have against grading is pretty strong, I have to say.

In terms of weird things people collect the concert posters for concerts one didn't attend rank up their pretty highly in my book (though not higher than graded ticket stubs of the same). But my question is how you have so many high grade 60s era concert posters like this? A CGC 10 poster from 1967??

I think it looks ok. My first impression of this piece was that YES it was babes and barbarians but all things considered it wa spretty tasteful. I was also drawn to the way the back was painted more the bikini in this picture. Looks a bit blown out though, perhaps flash? Some surface abrasion as well, not that it mattered much.

I much preferred the rougher female sketch for 17k over both of these.

For every female panel you have to subtract every panel with a bald guy in it that kills the mood. Panel 3, 4 and 5, don't really exist.

I agree, I was prepared to go to 25k on the page, and also noted the Leia content as a reason why. The last one HA auctioned sold for right about the same. Everything else has ballooned since then so I wouldn't have been shocked at 30k on the ROTJ paper. That said, for 20-30k I really should have gone for a Hakes strip. More regrets Frazetta DD did not hit reserve.

So this was the first time I ever got approval for an extended payment plan with HA....and then I proceeded to forgot about the auction today and totally spaced the page I was after. If anyone has a Williamson ROTJ page... To the winner, nice buy I think and in line with recent comps. I would have gone higher as I've been after one for awhile. Took down the BR page yesterday though, nice provenance on both.

Can anyone point me to where the commission rates are posted on CAF? His rep told me to just look on his page there but I cannot for the life of me find it.
