  1. Yeah this has been discussed on some of he FB groups. The ebay listing is odd, seems to imply the Weiss listing wasn't real. Odd coincidence then...
  2. This could be but its a great site for expanding my artistic horizons. I love browsing the plethora of art and artists posted there that I have never heard of before. Even better seeing the jaw dropping asking prices on some of these same artists.
  3. Hope it sells out to remove the temptation. I will likely pass but not for the production issues. I had one Taschen book and its just too big. I am selling most of my books because they are just too damn heavy, and this is even worse. Seriously, if interested in Frazetta books I would sell you my library for a deal
  4. I was considering the 600 dollar one because I am a sucker and also dislike dust jackets as being too precious.
  5. Easy solution is to default List All, with the option to Show Only Available Pieces. I know some sites do this.
  6. Aren't these youtube videos making the point that the reproduction quality on the Taschen is lacking? Skipped around the video a bit but it seems to be the case vs the Vanguard book.
  7. It's not just comic art. I have a hard to time differentiating the artists working on Magic cards and other fantasy based properties anymore. There are exceptions of course but for the most part the art all seems very "soft" to me.
  8. I was born in one of the 5 boroughs and grew up in central NJ. Left in 93 and haven't really been back, until last year. Was in Midtown and was expecting the worst based on the news. I was around 52nd, cabbed to Joe's in GV and walked back from Bleeker up to 52nd. I just didn't see the urban decay or even the piles of trash I was expecting. Not sure what to say about that. And my current nothing of a city in Arizona also has a growing problem with homelessness. We had a car break down in a rough part of town that I had to leave overnight. Came back 6am to meet to the tow truck driver and there were open fires on the sidewalk underneath the overpasses, people emptying their toilet buckets, etc. Didn't feel unsafe, though clearly on watch more than normal. It felt apocalyptic and then the train went by and the living situation for these folks went from bad to worse. Felt very Escape from NY.
  9. Thanks for the updates, appreciate you keeping this live. I may dive in on this and clear out the other 50 Frazetta books I have.
  10. I was also quite turned off by the daniel maghen auction that listed an obligation to pay the widow of Juan Gimenez some portion of the sales price. It was all very unclear how that was supposed to happen though. I assume it was another line item on the invoice but didn't win the lot anyway.
  11. Can't believe that sale was 2016! Wow how time flies when stuck in your house.
  12. Yeah this wasn't really my consideration. It just felt more like a timeshare than I was comfortable with. And in this case the person selling, an heir, was an attorney and a third party was involved that was negotiating, line by line, all the terms. By the time it was done, so was I.
  13. I bought a piece last year with one of these agreements attached (not BWS) but there was no profit sharing. It was just an agreement noting rights to re-photograph, a notification of ownership change, and rights to exhibit (within reason). I felt trapped by the piece and sold it within 6 months.
  14. I recall these were in place for some/all the Darabont auction lots but they were apparently waived at the 11th hour. I'm sure some insider knows the details more. Discussion at the time suggested the agreement suppressed the bidding.
  15. I was watching some random youtube recap of this auction and there was some offhand comment from someone about the upcoming PC focused auction this summer. Anyone know any details on that?
  16. pretty darn nice, the sig rocks as well. My other post got deleted accidentally, but was musing on whether even MK has originals from Willingham, or did they go the way of many Jeff Dee interiors?
  17. I hear you, his interiors were penetrating in those old DnD books.
  18. Man I wish I had asked you about this then. I could not find it on Google despite searching. Its a sweet piece of fantasy art. Congrats on the BC pickup.
  19. Cirocco perform as expected? I had no idea what to expect. Also was the Everquest 2 loading screen actually used?
  20. You will soon understand why heritage charges what it does for shipping and handling, and think you've gotten a bargain.
  21. 4750 hammer. Like I said T-Rex and robots are not prime Easley art but still... https://www.weissauctions.com/Online-Catalogs.aspx#/sales/102234/lots/20667388
  22. Curious if anyone picked up the Easley Gamma World just now. I was underbidder on it, I think. Never played Gamma World, not a huge fan of the cover given its non-fantasy focus but <5k for a vintage TSR Easley module cover seems quite fair.
