  1. Natalie Portman is doing a signing with SWAU sometime this year, and just adding CGC grading onto it bumps the cost up by $240 to a nice even $800. Trying not to fall into the FOMO mindset...
  2. In regards to the quality of these Cobra Kai books in particular; I bought ~40 and they were all in pretty rough shape. No matter how good photos looked online they still came in with marks on the spine or color breaking spine ticks. Even the copies I special ordered through my LCS came in VF+ condition. I'm not sure if it's a reoccurring problem with IDW comics, but I've personally always had bad luck with most Star Trek books that are saddle stitched as well. Definitely feels bad when your book comes back at a grade you aren't happy with though.
  3. Worked with them to get an 11"x17" piece done by Mike Grell. Was arranged to pick up at a con a few years ago. No problems at all, reasonably fast email responses too.
  4. Probably not the answer you want, but it really just depends on who you're asking and the book in question.
  5. Welcome to the boards! For future reference you should be able to find questions like this via the search bar up near the top of the page, or potentially in this very thread. However, here's answers to your questions in case they haven't been answered here: No, you can't have him give CGC the thumbs up that they're signed by him. A witness needs to be present at the time the book was signed. If you submit the book as it is, it will get a green Qualified label saying that there's a name written on the cover. If Neal signs the book again you will get a Signature Series/Qualified label, stating that the book was signed by Neal Adams but there's also a name written on the cover.
  6. I've had only good experiences with Trinity from a customer service standpoint. They seem to have a track record of fixing any mistakes they make in a timely manner too. When it comes to opening a 9.8 and getting a signature, it doesn't really matter who opens the book - there's potential that it will get a downgrade, like eee91 said. For example, I had Trinity open a 9.8 Captain Marvel #2 Photo Variant. Everything looked great in the slab (I bought it off eBay), but it still came back a 9.6. You win some, you lose some.
  7. Got this back in the mail today. I've been replaying the newer Tomb Raider trilogy and really felt the itch to finally get on Jordan's list last month, since I missed my chance the last time I went to a con.
  8. I'd be interested in seeing these, as well as the Orphan Black book you mentioned earlier if it's still available.
  9. Are you part of their "Trinity Comics Convention Services" group on Facebook? They made a post with all the information for the Jim Lee signing there.
  10. Sometimes I really wish there was fast track pressing for modern magazines, but it's nice to have this back.
  11. I did the Snyder/Capullo meet and greet at Cincinnati Comic Expo a few years ago, and Sharp Comics had a witness up at the signing. Had to follow him down to the show floor to put the books on my account/add more books to the invoice. (The thing was scheduled right as the doors to the con opened, so there was no way to get signatures beforehand.) At the Conner/Palmiotti experience last year at Cincinnati Comic Expo, One Stop Comic Shop was the facilitator and was able to do the same thing to get Hardin added to one book. So it really just depends on the facilitator, maybe I just got lucky with who was doing these two? I'm honestly kind of shocked that CGC isn't doing it, especially since they hold private signings for Jim when they're at the same con.
  12. Any way you'll open source it/put it on github? Would be cool to lend a hand if needed.
  13. Make sure to share if they are accepting submissions. Thanks in advance!
  14. I feel ya here. I've gone for the last 3 years, and have to miss this year since I'm tightening up on money since I started up grad school. Hope to go back in 2021 though - love visiting that city.
  15. Looks like Twin Cities Comics has it listed on their site as a show they're attending. I'm sure there's more too.
  16. Thanks for posting this - I've been looking for something that could get slabbed if I ever saw her at a show.
  17. Check out the Signature Series forum on here. There's tons of information on sending items to facilitators. (There should be a few thread stickied about it too.) If you aren't looking for a specific book Artgerm's online store offers graded/signed books directly from him - Albeit at a premium.
  18. The newer style CGC cases may seem scary to open at first, but one of the facilitators on this board has made a pretty good video on how to do it. (If it's an older style case, then it would be even easier.) Cracking open your own blue labels will save you a ton of time.
  19. I PM'd him on Instagram about getting one sent to CGC, and haven't heard back. I'm sure the guy gets messages all day long though.
  20. Not having a fast track for Modern magazines makes waiting even worse.
  21. Yes he will. There's not really an advantage of using a facilitator though, unless they offer something like pressing that's faster than CCS. You're going to pay $10-$15 for them to ship a book to CGC that you will (more than like) have to ship to them in the first place. This is 100% true.
  22. I'm glad I'm not the only person who has reoccurring problems with this. I read somewhere that the line for signatures is done by hand. The automation engineer in me thinks it could easily be automated with the rest of the label, or at least given a check box style list for creators they could filter through...
