  1. +1 The cellphone service (could just be me idk) was horrible in there and internet real slow. I didn't know that so many were having problems with delays and cancellations till I got home. The photo-op annoucers didn't have mega-phones and I felt bad for them being asked the same question over and over and never having updates. Some kind of electronic screen would be great. I notice they had a few screens at the photo-ops. They were small, I guess that is normal, I noticed them after a while but it took me a long time asking workers for updates and the screens were never pointed out to me. The Speaker for the place broke on Friday night, but even before it broke it was garbled and hard to understand except for between 2-4pm when there were hardly any people there. I wouldn't suggest a announcement over the speaker, it's too loud there
  2. weird I just noticed that you can share a post on facebook and a bunch of other social media, why?
  3. That's what I was trying to express, but I thought if you got something added to it ie sig, extra character added, then it would become witnessed. Is that not true? well that makes a difference.... I can in the future get a CGC'd sketch that is not a comic though (right?)as long as it is witnessed. It's just what's the difference in doing that and getting a comic cover sketch. I don't know the only way I see this becoming productive is 1) if you don't want it ruining a cover ie blank/or other and 2) it was a full on comission on smaller paper... Did they discuss sizes? that may seem silly but I don't know what size a full on comission comes in, and I'm sure there is no real way to answer ie every artist may be different
  4. Agreed and well said, the only thing that may eventually happen is they'll cap the tickets for attendence. Which would bite the big one. to me anyway I've seen it on shows the big bang theory comes to mind, where theirgathering 'round to get comic con tickets and it sells out and their bummed I've seen that play out too, tickets go on sale and the site crashes and it's a big ordeal, it happened a little bit with photo-ops this year and last year. These things seem to be an enigma or paradox and I don't blame anyone for it and try to appreciate it for what it is ha anybody going to see the new Stephen King "IT" movie will testify the horror
  5. I tell you what, the last time I priced an Iron Man Helmet that does stuff (lame (kinda) purchase to begin with at a con) like light up and makes sounds was on Amazon. It was cheap for Amazon Prime but quite expensive otherwise. idk I'm just talking to talk. I told the vendor at the con the price I remembered and he was like those places are always overpriced. I bought one with tax like I said earlier $129, but that was my fault compared to prices NOW on ebay etc. I found other vendors to be quite willing to haggle, as I made other purchases, even on Friday within the first hour of the show 2-3pm. Idon't have any regrets and considering the bad press of "some" being refunded photo-ops in the article, allwhoweren'table to get their photo's had the option of full refund. Would I have ever thought a Comic-Con is a bit of a gamble? NO----but now I do and understand it. I'm a little bit more level headed of course compared to those tweets, cause I was able to get my Norman Reedus Boondock Saints Trio photo Had I missed out it would have hit me like a ton of Mark Hamill was a bit pricey, you got to admit. I've always heard, "spend money at a con that you could never do elsewhere". That statement is bad for comics other than those rare finds that are few and far... It's a learning experience, I just hope people don't get turned off comics and such because of it, idk those tweets are worse than that article's pov
  6. I would assume your right, but don't want to assume responsibility if otherwise, I'm sure if it is 8 X 11 ----script page, then that makes since it would be gradable with a witnessed signature from what CGC told me, of course, when your setting up to get it signed you should be able to find that out to double check I'm glad it may work out for you. No Worries. I'm up a creek on mine. It is nice to know that we can have original art recognized as such with a yellow label. I would not have thought to do that but knew that I had seen it done, while I could not find any current examples on ebay. CGC didn't go into specifics on size of sketch/paper/cardstock; I would assume that sketches done at con's or elsewhere would be able to be done in a size that would be gradable. That is something else I would need to find out in the future for myself at con's. Knowledge is power and Knowing is half the battle---Go Joe !!
  7. @Captain Canuck I called for us: They will only grade it if it is witnessed but if it was witnessed an 8.5 X 11 would be gradable Because ours is not witnessed they will not grade it at all including the letter you have. It would be a NG- "No Grade" but would become "gradable" ONLY IF WITNESSED and if within a standard size and "8.5 X 11" would work
  8. CGC is open right now, give them a call?
  9. hahaaha I needed that, that's funny by the way I only get 10 likes a day but you would have just taken all of them
  10. Interesting, glad it worked out. I have one of my earliest experiences with comics also with TMNT 1. I was born in 1981. I remember going by the local supermarket and seeing turtle comics and wanting one or two. I believe I saw the #1 somewhere in there but it must have been a later printing because I remember being old enough to read. The reason I remember is my brother was to come soon and I wanted to impress him with turtles comics 'cause they looked like fun I also remember my mom saying no that baby's can't read and the cover looked a little forboding for a young kid. I didn't mind at the time because there was only one left on the rack and it was beat up and had tears.
  11. Just got the Wolverine: Limited Series 1-4 Frank Miller reader copies I just read for the first time, was pretty good
  12. I guess the only safe thing to do is call them....they're probably really busy though right now with con's etc....
  13. Well snap I thought I saw something like what I mentioned earlier, but I can't find it now to post a link for proof... So I guess disregard what I said, I could of sworn I saw it though I do see http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Boba-Fett-Sketch-by-Clayton-Crain-CGC-Signature-Series-NG-Batman-/152496980743?hash=item2381874307:g:mP4AAOSw4CFYuhyR Which has a sketch and a NG, but I think it is a comic; also I think this is what I saw last time but I thought it was sketch on paper/card idk
  14. But I've seen them graded on ebay and such they Give it a NG I've seen where they give sketches on paper a NG-no grade but most have a yellow label on ebay etc. Are you just wanting it graded to have it protected etc.? Also since it is not witnessed, I don't see the label saying anything... I am wondering the same thing too though, I have a Neal Adams Sketch on his COA sketch card
  15. That IH 181 presents fairly well for a 3.0, I have a 3.0 as well, so congrats
  16. I appreciate it very much now I have some information to refer back to!! Thanks Again
  17. LCS had some I overlooked them due to being out of my wheelhouse, or not something that I would read....or didn't know about... Hughes on Facebook shared a post of someone who had traced his work and signature and was trying to pass it off as the real deal. It was of a WW drawing. Not sure how to post a link
  18. I guess I'll chime in and give my It was Awesome and can become AWESOMER ha that's what I love Especially the comic grading, facilitators, and comic artists A+ Two aisles for tatoo's freaked my brother out but to each his own Anyway the comic portion was handled professionally enough, I know certain celebs have commitments, but I feel bad for some who got turned away form sigs/photo-ops. I enjoyed it though. I made some ignorant purchases. I dropped off the main comics that I wanted signed with yellow label Friday. Come Saturday and Sunday, I didn't realize that I had enough cash for 2 more sigs on 2 other minor books that I could have gotten. Mike Zeck on a SW 8 that I have raw, and Arthor Adams on an Xmen Annual 14 raw as well; could of had both signed with a yellow label. Oh well, but instead I bought a light saber (why?) and a Iron Man Helmet that does some stuff (whY? again) I fell a little like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person but I had fun
  19. I don't remember, but good eye!! I see, maybe, what your talking about---the break in the black line down the spine?? perhaps?? Anyway, I'd have to compare them to other books to see if that's normal, otherwise no nick that I saw.... MY point is I dropped them off at a con last Friday to be signed by Jim Lee so can't double check, probably will be a month or a little longer to get it back... I'll post here as soon as I can
  20. Curious why this thread is on the 3rd page Anyway slow day at the con today here in Dallas, think that I'm still getting my bearings. This is my only pick up for today, I did drop some other stuff off at CGC that I had estimated over in spare a grade probably an 8.5
