  1. Furthermore did anyone use the George Perez email that he gave to send your thoughts?? and prayers??
  2. Is he back in the Hospital? or is this the same article when he went in a couple weeks back and he is already better?
  3. Hooray! Welcome, interesting thoughts and concerns Welcome to the Boards
  4. Update for anyone who wanted to know on the HPB situation I'll put a spoiler so I don't cramp anyone's style....
  5. This is the issue that I was talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Detective-Comics-395-Neal-Adams-Cover-OW-W-CGC-8-5-VF-/252923610967?hash=item3ae36c0757:g:bKAAAOSwCU1YvgiE It's Detective Comics Batman and Robin..... I've just seen it mentioned a few times on the boards.....I was interested with the one a HPB but didn't know current prices and as I was in a limited amount of time there, I just made note of it... Another reason I was hesitant was they had a Silver Surfer #13 that was in F/F+ there as well and it was priced at $50 and a SS #14 that was F/- for $100 so I think that they see "old issue" and price the bejesus out of it
  6. Also what would make it not worth it, as I'm unfamiliar with the book, back cover torn or missing piece...? There is one on ebay that is raw/ungraded but listed as 7.0 for $75 that sounds like a better deal than a $50 with whatever is wrong with it.... but idk
  7. I should but it is under lock and key at HPB and in a bag and board, so I would have to call a person over to unlock it and then I don't know if they'd let me look through it etc. I'll give it a shot though, what should I be looking for??? are there common thing's to cut out ie "value stamp", which might only be marvel, or is there something else to look at? I only know that it is a valued key, but don't really know much about it.....
  8. you should always be able to look at the credit noted, usually on the first page of a comic, and that will tell you 1st, 2nd....print
  9. I looked for an example in my personal scans, but some are real easy; the last number in the barcode if it is a 1 then it is first print, a 2 it's second print and so on I forget from what years they did this.
  10. According to Wikipedia the Chainsaw Vigilante was in his own series but I don't know if that was his first appearance, surely not, wikipedia leads you all over the place
  11. UMMMM I've seen people post about the Tick comic with the Chainsaw guy..? I found a Chroma Tick #9 that had him on the cover..... what is his first appearance? this one was in color...and I didn't know if I shoud pick it up...? I don't know what "color" had to do with the comic, but it had the Chainsaw guy on the to of the car that the Tick and Arthur where in..... anyway I don't know much about the Tick comic only the cartoon... this Tick #9 wasn't in good shape or anything but it looked like something.... Any help appreciated.. ..the place I went to also had the Tick "free giveaway" or some promotional comic from the copper age, I forget what it said on the cover but it had red borders if that helps....
  12. I think this is where your supposed to post HPB's stuff---Half Price Books----had a Detective Comics 395 but it had "as Is" on the price tag so I left it alone....price tag said $50 so idk, They also had a Killing Joke 4th print for $50-60 idk if any of that is worth it....? If anyone could give me a reason why those make sense other than to read, I'm all ears. "As is" can meant tears, pieces missing etc................ Anyway I settled on this
  13. Speaking of twisted prices, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-Quinn-1-CGC-9-8-1-25-Adam-Hughes-variant-/222499539091?hash=item33ce018893:g:OSIAAOSww9xZC4P~
  14. If they were all the same price there would be no competitive market....If you see one sell at $470 and it goes into the sold listings, someone could see that and say $695 is not that much more depending on how deep there pockets are. Also if the $695 is posted first, and someone see's that and says "I can sell it cheaper!" thinking someone would pay said $695 surely someone will buy mine quicker for $470, when in fact $470 is an outlandish price..... Also depending on how much it cost the person to acquire the $695 CGC 8.0 FF49, $695 might be the price they need to make their money back.....they'll just leave it on ebay for a looooooong time and hope it sells....
  15. I say this because mine from April 2nd sat in recieved for a while but ultimately ended up being on time... I have one from C2E2, I haven't checked on it yet.......but I will soon etc It definitely took some time after Fan Expo Dallas
  16. It's only been 20 days if you don't count the weekends...(?)
  17. ASM 300 OA, means Amazing Spiderman 300 "Original Art". Original Art in this case would mean the original art of the cover of ASM 300 that was used to print/produce the comic----- just meaning the first Art that the comics were made from...... there is an Original Art thread/forum here on the CGC boards, where people discuss what they've bought and sold of the blueprints of comics whether it be a splash page ----a comic page of OA with no words, -------- OA of a cover,,,,,,or OA with word bubbles. I think this is what you were asking information on; Anyway hope it helps @grayzr
