Our Recent Experience Selling Comics Through Mycomicshop
ADAMANTIUM replied to thehumantorch's topic in Comics General
Seems like I remember you posting something similar recently, I didnt post this then, but it's a common theme, mycomicshop vf is almost NM every time. In other words mycomicshop shop "under grades or has stricter standards on raws than cgc!". That's been known and said a long time, it's their model that use, they still realize prices though. Idk who to tag to back me up, but if you read through the "my experience with mcs" thread, you should find similar stories to yours. Your grades might not have been too far off, but mycomicshop has their own criteria and graders trained for raws... -

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
ADAMANTIUM replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Dang, I was hoping we'd get Lady Deadpool or Lady Deathstrike. But I did recently get a copy of New X-Men 114 for $2, so there's that. didn't the following issue or preceeding one, ahem, negasonic Warhead already collapse as well? Despite appearing in the 1st 2 deadpools? Don't get me wrong I have all of the above, but will probably keep them, as they were inexpensive pick ups, but idk if down the road I'd think that I "should have got out?" -
First Submission - is this glue on the inside?
ADAMANTIUM replied to AC Skywalker's topic in Comics General
Sorry I should've explained more. That's the mold injection site for the slab. "Mold injection?" It is Where the Sonic weld is on the sides that seal the top and bottom of the slab together that cause the "glue" like representation that the op asked about. That's my understanding. As it is top set on bottom and welded with a plastic sonic weld on the side. Now how it gets the seam down the side looking "glue" I'm not sure, unless there is an inner seal? Which is totally possible, given there is an inner well holding the comic separate from the outer welded holder. -

What's your progress on 2022 CGC signings?
ADAMANTIUM replied to woznia17's topic in The Signature Room
the deadline to have the Bagley in by was July 21st... Now I'm wondering when the signing will happen? Only been two weeks, but I feel what everyone feels. Hope it is somewhat soon -
If it happens to dissappear again, try refreshing the page, is what your describing instead of "reopen" and just to be clear. It happens to me too, especially on certain devices, sometimes I can't even react to a post without refreshing... Two bullseyes though! Awesome! I believe your scores were impressive Once more what is weird is that I bombed the last couple of rounds, in which were the only rounds I GOT bullseyes, so idk.

First Submission - is this glue on the inside?
ADAMANTIUM replied to AC Skywalker's topic in Comics General
I take that back, I understand it may "appear unseemly," but would cgc consider it a mechanical error? I think almost certainly it's a no. That said I understand but I could ignore it, but I don't know how common as I don't tend to notice -

Some are and or have more than others, but I wouldn't worry about it. -
Did you get a submission email yet? I know or pretty sure there is one when shipped. Odd that it is out of cgc and not finalized yet idk

First Submission - is this glue on the inside?

It's not "glue", it is the results of the Sonic weld I believe used to secure the plastics. It's just sealed plastic, not glue. -
There were actually other people in the screen X theater! Idk if it was due to the special theater, not even enough people to fill up a row. Screen X is due to the side walls showing as a screen as well! And not just in front of you, which this is my 1st to experience, that was awesome! That's about it.

I do have a few coins which I know nothing about? A 2 cent civil war coin from like 1865, which I can barely make the coin out, so not a good imprint still. And a 1978 2 dragmai Greece y76 Idk if any are worth anything, but also recently found a 1942 wheat penny. Any thoughts on these other than the historical significance of wars? @ChanceDuncan

Uhhhh yes the graders list notes on comics to explain flaws, it's not a guaranteed thing, but the CGC label on the back also has a QR code that will take you to them, on the slab, to see if there are any. Most below 9's in grade have them but certainly not close to all. Especially after 5-7 mil comics graded...and that is only modern labels, otherwise you can look up the cert number for graders Notes, and that goes back to CGC inception. @ChanceDuncan

Idk why but I have a book/slab with added staples that is a 1.8, so that's what I gave it. I remember doing research as I didn't buy it knowingly with extra staples (was a blurry ebay picture), but wondered why the grade, sure enough all the ones I saw years ago WERE 1.8. I just assumed it was the defect.

Prescreen blah blah: I saw the first one as a prescreen for free, so if this is any give back I'm happy. If it is a sequel or continuing idk. It'll be nice just to be in a cool theater with my brother, on a Sunday afternoon. Do I root for the shark or Jason? Edit it to say "screen x?" Idk if some sort of iMac but everything is comfortable seating with a huge screen. SHARK!
