  1. Shipped! I got my first reject too One of my books, no prescreen, was sticky? Weird! It was gifted to me but other books from the same person got graded so idk, win and lose, but at least I got the grading credited back to me! That is awesome as another sub is to be delivered today. Hope for no more rejects though yowzah 🤮 🤢
  2. Sounds extreme, but I get where your coming from now, a market exists and there is no harm in discussing it either way. No wrong way to collect per se.
  3. Modern has the zoomies, but in reality it took a long while before it ended up in CGC hands. Mailed 5/21 Delivered 5/24 Marked received and sfg 5/30 Gei 6/5/24 Qc 6/6/24
  4. Sales tax is tacked on depending on the state you buy the item from (ie: a purchase from a seller in California will have California sales tax added to the final charges, etc) That was my thinking and since New York never charged me sales tax personally, I was just double checking if it is "the same" through ebay @Point Five
  5. Amen. And let's face it there are a lot of sought after memorabilia out there, if just comics 1% of a gazillion is still a lot
  6. @Neo "The One" by and by... How much is New York Sales tax specifically? I know you probably have others to where it all adds up.... but just "sales tax?" Texas is still sizeable 8.25% so don't feel I'm being insincere!
  7. That might go back to being in the same state scenario so idk, but I agree, I don't envy you, that is
  8. Used too, ebay would only charge sales tax if you bought from the same state? If you live in Texas and bought from Texas, you paid sales tax. If I'm in Texas and New York charges sales tax, now I pay it there too, but if New York isn't required to charge sales tax AND they're a different state than mine? then maybe no sales tax? That would be my only guess based on my limited information.
  9. Of course! I knew I was missing something I meant when online people from New York have never charged me sales tax, I don't know if bought from there THROUGH EBAY But I doubt the 2 are unrelated, as idk New York laws concerning such, but was trying just to give the info I had haha, it might not help much. Other than to say, maybe ebay gets the same benefits from New York as if you had purchased from an online retailer based there online? That is my only guess, but idk specifics
  10. No one else is seeing this change in the last few weeks? I hesitate to post as a jinx and other frivolity, but New York has never charged me sales tax, and idk why? So I'm not sure if it is the question that isn't concise, or I just don't know? Dave and Adams and High Grade Comics, have literally never charged me sales tax or pretty sure..... so idk
  11. what's sad? I had so much more to ask, that I even got disgusted by myself and went for coffee Like I bailed before the 90's dispersion so idk the rhetoric back then among collectors, but this feels like that to me. This is also is a mass (presumably) exodus from the hobby, sure it isn't under the best circumstances. It feels the same "to me" if it were due to foil covers and the like, but it is still affecting the hobby. For someone to seemingly look me dead in the eye and say to the effect of, "It doesn't matter, it never mattered!" and slap me like I'm dreaming It feels a little bit like the one that says, "they went out from us, but were never 'of us' or they would have remained with us!" So I initially had my doubts as that is just a bold statement. A bit precarious but I can let it go, just sad "if true"
  12. Nevermind. Lol It's just the posts are so far from where the peoples here heads are at, that I shouldn't have to prove obvious totalogy to show millions of attitudes and posts by people buying since this and other threads have started. The sheer thought that I could answer for so many is inconceivable But @Hepcat has no problem doing just that and emphatically, which of course is the same absurdness
  13. But where are those who bought an ih181 and are weekly checking it in this thread? No one here is doing that? A bit like "the little people 'are they here?" From that Robin Williams movie. Many people complained about prices soaring to which the dealers always posted tough noogies, and now we have a person having an imaginary conversation to people who are long gone, telling us how to collect, complaining himself, and how to post? Short memory indeed. This is one thread about how prices are still bottoming out. There were many threads here shared full of people saying they could no longer afford them, and asking "do you think they'll come back down after this hype?" C'mon
  14. I also say all this full well knowing that every ten and nine points nine almost makes the news and is scrutinized. In a way the rare makes that POSSIBLE. If no longer "rare" that goes out the window, and that subtly will cause decline if anything else imo
  15. I sympathize with the thought that even graders at CGC didn't have a list criteria of every book in 9.9&10 and just marked it 9.8. I also am of the belief that the lottery ticket of 9.9&10 grade is also a myth just to label why it has been so seldom. Here is my opinion. Not too much wrong with this book qualifies for 9.8, and is not printed like last ronin on hard stock and doesn't warrant being scrutinized for 9.9&10. Then through whatever venue, "really guys? Cgc graded all these books and not any 9.9&10? Wth .... then they scrutinized for a little bit because it felt warranted and found no secure candidates and resumed their old ways UNTIL ALL THE SCENARIOS START REPEATING and they DO find a candidate. Not doing their job, being lazy or for whatever the reason as it comes across? I don't think they had a "plot to only let a few out!" Just that when they looked enough, stopped looking due to no winners, and eventually ran it through scenarios until once in that process they found a winner. That's in my opinion or what I got from this post
  16. Nothing wrong with being on a list taken by random internet strangers who are trying to help, but if I were you, I’d go through the thread and see which law enforcement agency I can file a police report with, or lawyers to contact. I think it will increase your odds to you have filed something complete with facts with some official party, whether law enforcement or an attorney or both. I second this and maybe should clarify it is what I meant by saying this In other words, I don't have the info and @revat didn't find it either, I just thought for sure the two I tagged having had a "list" at one point could then point you to the legal recourse information, and not that they themselves are in any kind of legality way.
  17. @Neo "The One" @Sauce Dog have been keeping track of some stuff, but I'm not sure the details, just tagging them as your post had to be "approved as it is a 1st post and didn't bump the thread."
  18. Modern has the zoomies, but in reality it took a long while before it ended up in CGC hands. Mailed 5/21 Delivered 5/24 Marked received and sfg 5/30 Gei 6/5
  19. He's also the last one still alive? I think 🤔
