  1. But if it's not possible there, even putting limits in the Guidelines allow users to report said scammers and get the thread removed ASAP. When people see a transgression noted in a sales thread, they are also much less likely to bid foolishly.
  2. Is there any way to put limits on selling in the forums (2 months membership + 100 posts?), either through the software or in the rules? There are just too many 1-4 post scammers trying to steal money from the forum faithful, and we really have to do something about it.
  3. Exactly, so sellers are scared to send a strike because eBay does nothing and they'll get a neg and 1-1-1-1 DSRs from the "buyer". I had an old "favorite sellers" list I used to buy from on eBay and I would estimate over 95% of them are long gone. No big surprise, as you might as well give away raw comics than sell on eBay.
  4. Currently bid up to $99,202 with 4 hours to go. A better condition one sold for $11,000. That spike going up to 6 figures is amazing. I wanna know if that guy who wrote "Mario" on the game realizes how much money he could've had It seems like the auction is just being bid up for sport, and I can't imagine the seller will ever actually get paid that kind of money. It's weird though...some of those bids are from people with high feedback numbers and not your typical zero or low feedback bidders just looking for a thrill. These days anyone can thrill bid, as eBay has gotten rid of Buyer Feedback. Sellers won't can't even send a strike anymore, as they're all scared of getting Negs and 1-1-1-1 DSRs. Ebay took away the seller's ability to leave neutral or negative feedback for buyers. I already stated that with "as eBay has gotten rid of Buyer Feedback", and you do realize that a Strike (alerting eBay to a non-paying bidder) is different than a Neg, right?

  6. Of course $600 isn't outlandish, and I would say that long-term, it might be a bit high. That's because all these "true fans" of TWD are mostly fair-weather fans, and congregate when the heat is on, but when the show is off the air and forgotten, the vast majority will flit over to the latest "hot fad" and profess their "true fanness" once again. Today's pop culture is all about the here-and-now, and no one wants to be sitting on a cold street corner, rambling on about a zombie TV show that's been off the air for years.
  7. It's easy to find a PS4 online or in-store and you need to load the webpages (FS, BB, WM, etc.) and run a tracking program (check4 change, etc.) on the stock indicator. Then either buy online or reserve in store. I can't see waiting more than a day or two with this method.
  8. I wouldn't discount the resale value just yet, as there are a lot of people trying to complete 35-cent sets, and all you need is a few of them looking for the same book. It's a very HTF issue as well, and I doubt there are a lot of them out there.
  9. The reason I was disappointed in this non-thread is because I thought we were *actually* going to talk about which 2nd Print Marvel book was the rarest. Foolish me.
  10. Exactly - if you wanted to show off a freakshow book, no need to create a new thread for it.
  11. In all seriousness....If you're ever gonna move them, I think now is time. I'm surprised you're not moving some of your X-men 141 stash at least. Easy money right there. I know, and I can almost guarantee that the "Antman" window is going to close very soon and they'll quickly drop back down to Earth. And those ST Warlock books - I was buying runs of those like a madman for a few years - Bob Storms, Metro, eBay, on here, etc. I bought a crazy multiple-issue set (I guess the OO was speculating) off eBay in maybe 2000-2001 that was newsstand fresh and always wanted to submit those.
  12. By the time I found them all, graded them, scanned them and finally got the listings up, they'd no longer be hot.
  13. I have a few CGC copies (9.0-9.2 - one is a greggy reject ) and a pile of raw, and (although I have no idea which is which) this is what I found on the HD under my scans:
  14. It looks like all the books I stockpiled over the years are suddenly red hot!
  15. I used to have dozens of 181 back when I was a Byrne completionist I actually don't think I have too many 181's, as I think even years ago when I was buying, they were being withheld and/or speculated on. Probably have a nice stack, but nothing like 183-188 or so.
  16. That's only because Copper Age books represent the perfect storm between massive HG availability and CGC prices realized.
  17. On a more positive note (although most people will have played it by now) I have been working through some backlog, trying out games to see what's worth it to play, and I found a crazy, zany, maniacal gem from the past: Prototype I know it's an older game, but for some reason I never got around to playing it. And for a gamer who was very impressed with the Infamous games, Prototype is like Infamous on Steroids. Just absolutely insane action, and the sheer mayhem is incredible. It's probably as close to comic book action (think Hulk + Venom) as I've ever seen in a video game, and I really like that it's an open-world "sandbox" design. The story is not as good as Infamous and some missions can get repetitive, but the action is 10X better and much more visceral. Plus you can just run around like a maniac if you want, tossing buses and tanks around, throwing civilians around and running up walls. Plus, the game allows you to achieve goals different ways, without the linearity in some other sandbox games (like Infamous). Right at the start, there was a mission where I was being chased by an attack chopper and I was *supposed* to go to a roof and toss air conditioner units (or something) at them. Screw that. I chased one from roof to roof, finally leaping onto it in mid-air, and punching it all the way down to the pavement. Mission Accomplished. The I noticed one of my kids sitting on the stairs - "What are you playing Dad, that was crazy!".
  18. It's not reasonable to think I'd spend time Googling features that previous systems had to make sure they didn't get removed. A good idea, yes, but not one that will always occur to me. Well if we use the new products as a baseline, we'll never have this argument again for XBox or PS. The new ones don't have it, so no one can ever expect it again, right? Buddy, this is widely expected to be the last dedicated home console generation with proprietary OS's and monopolistic paywall schemes, so no one will have to worry about anything Xbox or PS related.
  19. You do realize that even if it was nearly-free, they don't *want* to include BC, right? Sony even admitted that when the took off BC from the PS3, stating they wanted PS3 owners "to be buying PS3 games and not playing their old PS2 games". No qualms about it, buy, buy, buy!! Existing PS3 and Xbox 360 games represent no profit to Sony and Microsoft, and it has nothing to do with the expense of the system (Sony was rumored to release multiple system configurations (one BC and one not) or a PS3 dongle, but quashed the idea because it would have impacted PS4 game sales) and everything to do with getting people to buy a pile of those horrible release titles to play on their shiny new toys. Or do you really not understand how the console upgrade cycle works? Why do you think the DS3 and Xbox 360 controllers don't work with the new consoles? Why don't headphones work? remote controls? Especially on the PS4, which uses BT. Why do Sony and Microsoft sue companies who design dongles that allowed PS2 controllers to work on the PS3 or Xbox wit 360? Cha-Ching! Neither company makes anything on the console hardware, it's software licensing and residual dollars that drive the business, so losing BC makes perfect economic sense for a greedy corporation. Not that I blame them, but it saddens me that consumers are falling for their BS and actually supporting their corporate agenda.
  20. I'm taking a wild guess here and saying you're single or have no kids. Actually married with 2 kids. Are they out of the crib yet? Our house has 4 controllers minimum per console, and 8+ for the Wii (we have double PS3/Xbox/Wii consoles for the basement). This is because sometimes they have parties where 8 kids play Mario kart concurrently and they get prizes to the top finishers. Do the math on the sheer amount of peripherals and controllers here, and then tell me it's "no clutter".
  21. Then we agree, and I too am waiting a year or two before jumping in to the PS4, as there are not enough great games (as in none as of today ) to warrant buying a console when I would still be playing the PS3 exclusively. It would make no sense economically to sit a PS4 on the home theater just to collect dust.

  23. COI is just dancing for us, as we're obviously talking about release consoles. No one is going to buy a PS3 today looking to play PS2 games but at launch it is very important. And even hardcore gamers are complaining right now, as they can't play all the FREE PS Plus content on their new PS4, and are forced to drag out the old PS3 to hold them over. Some are even re-buying consoles they traded in to get all the killer free games.
