  1. Actually it might be, as I'm usually ready to sell once the market has totally tanked, so GPA might have closed down by then.
  2. When I sell on here, I'm going to load multiple GPA charts for all my books, and none of you tools better say anything.
  3. Keep trying. And are you actually saying that a seller hypes their raw listings with CGC GPA sales data, *only* to help out other buyers? If so, please state it for the record, so we can all have a huge laugh.
  4. As a buyer, you can use any and all resources open to you, but we're talking about SELLERS here.
  5. As a buyer, you either pay what the seller wants or you don't. As I've stated many times, the question here is not price, but the sales tactic of quoting CGC GPA prices to promote raw books.
  6. I like how you gloss over the fact that you quoted GPA on a common BA Amazing Spider-man in 9.2. And I was initially confused as to all the GPA pricing, as I am looking for a CGC copy of ASM 127, but have no need for more raw copies.
  7. Once again, we're not talking about what price the seller is asking, but the tactic (quoting GPA price alongside) he or she is using to PROMOTE their raw book sales. It's not a difficult concept to grasp, but it seems to be eluding many people on here.
  8. Across the board, I dispute that statement. You bring up some rare GA books as hitting GPA levels, while discounting the vast majority of HG sales that do not. I buy BA all the time, and I'd have to be on a serious drug binge to even contemplate *always* paying the same raw NM to NM/M price as GPA, and even more so if the dealer was actively promoting GPA pricing at his booth.
  9. It's a no-win on here, as the people jumping up in support of the new GPA as Raw hype machine are also sellers who use this tactic in their forum threads. I somehow doubt we'll be able to convert these guys to our side.
  10. Again, an almost total inability to grasp what we're talking about. I'll make it really clear: 1) Raw ASM 122 VF - asking $150 2) Raw ASM 122 VF - asking $150 - GPA Average at $155, high price set last month at $199!!! Do you really not see the difference?
  11. I'll remember this statement when I'm selling raw books, and quoting CGC prices from Comics Price Guide - http://www.comicspriceguide.com/.
  12. Oh boy, the old "move along" strawman is trotted out - why not take your own advice and "move along"? I think the inability to understand what we're talking about is the main problem. A lot of people on here are failing to grasp it. People can ask whatever price they want for their books. Price a Howard the Duck #1 VG at $1,000,000 for all I care. $2 million, $10 million - who cares? What we are attempting to discuss is the use of GPA data to PROMOTE a RAW comic listing, giving CGC data and then using those prices to hype/sell your non-CGC book. That has NOTHING to do with the price asked, and everything to do with providing historical CGC sales data when you're not even selling a CGC book.
  13. Who cares? The vast majority of other CGC forum sales get no where near GPA totals. Does that automatically make my point valid? We're not talking about what a book sells for, but the ACT of using GPA data to PROMOTE your raw comic sales threads. Podboy didn't do this, so why are you dragging him into this?
  14. The fact remains that GPA measures CGC sales, which anyone with a brain must admit, are a combination of many different factors - label chasers, registry hounds, speculators, collectors, etc. When you're talking raw, a lot of those potential buyers get tossed out, and therefore make across-the-board data comparison impossible. The only time GPA data should be used to promote and sell raw books, is in cases like Roy's, where he makes a "money back guarantee" if a book fails to grade X.X when submitted to CGC.
  15. So Podboy actively promoted his raw sales using stated GPA averages? I looked over his entire thread, and didn't see anything like that. Do you have a link?
  16. Gimme a break. Label chasers and registry addicts regularly pay nosebleed prices for HG CGC books, and raw copies sell for nowhere near the same amounts. That's a fact, and I have never, ever, ever seen a common Byrne X-Men raw copy selling for thousands of dollars, but some CGC copies do. And using Zilla as an example to support your specious claims is hilarious, as everyone knows his buyers are ingesting pure crack. GPA measures and reports on CGC sales, so therefore it's only valid for CGC copies. How this can be difficult for some to grasp is beyond me.
  17. 100% agreed, as not only is GPA totally useless for raw books, it can cause confusion from buyers who may believe they're getting CGC books. I see GPA and automatically think CGC.
  18. Agreed, and here'e the original post I was discussing in the DISCUSSION thread so as to "keep the sales threads clean". http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2348305&page=1&fpart=2 Hammer that "smut peddler" all day and night.
  19. And if anyone wants to send the real "smut peddler" a PM, here's his User Profile: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showprofile&User=7892
  20. Like I said, I never posted any images. I just linked it from this OPEN thread in the CGC Marketplace. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2348305&page=1&fpart=2 Go tell that dateless pervert to delete the image.
  21. Seriously. I could get sent to "sexual harassment re-education" classes if that image (or some of the other porn/fetish ones) was on my PC when a female co-worker came in. And then at home, I'd hate to be surfing the CGC Forums and then quickly have to look over my shoulder to see if a little one is watching from the door. I don't do porn, so I'm not an expert like some of you.
