  1. There is no right or wrong in a situation like this - it's all up to the OP on what he does. If I got mugged for $100, I wouldn't care about the dollar amount, I'd pursue legal (and possibly illegal) remedies til my dying breath, just so that the perp thought twice before trying it on anyone else. That's just me - I'm like the Energizer Bunny when I get rooked. Others are more easy-going, but it really comes down to doing what you need to, to sleep soundly at night. If having money stolen from you is going to bother you, then do something about it. If not, then move along.
  2. I think when you take into consideration your upper-level pricing, time saved, no slabbing fees, no shipping back and forth to CGC, I think you come out just fine.
  3. Big kudos to BeachBum for a nice stack of Byrne X-Men CGC books, which knocked off quite a few of the 9.4-or-better gaps in my run.
  4. Great movie, isn't it? Probably scared the sheit out of more kids than you can count.
  5. , is that from the "Scottish Mistaken 30-cent Variant" pedigree.
  6. Then we're agreed - let's keep it. (thumbs u
  7. My comment was in relation to the BS going on over at EBay, and the potential for abuse since the forum is FREE. Do some math over at the Bay, and you'll see that profit is usually higher here, and the last thing we need to do is open the auction floodgates.
  8. Sure, but I'm talking about the longterm, hardcore disputes that will never be resolved.
  9. But most of these non-deals will never be completed, as there is just too much bad blood between the parties.
  10. Hey, even Arch has stated he's against auctions, and the original guidelines were set up that way, so why are you yammering at me? If you want to auction stuff off, there are lots of sites that offer that specific functionality. These forums do not inherently support auctions, and are much better suited to a basic BIN format. That's reality, and to dispute that is to admit you have no brain stem.
  11. But at least then all the auctioning and offers/counter offers have to happen in PMs or email, and no one else has to slog through it. If you allow auctions, knobs are going to put insane BINs on common books, just to match the guidelines, then auction them off like EBay. A $500 BIN on a VG Bronze Age book - auction starts at 99-cents - how is that different from a non-BIN auction? You might as well just toss out all the rules and let it be a free-for-all, as that's what it will be anyway.
  12. Exactly. We have a system that works, and is very popular, yet some doofuses keep trying to screw with it.
  13. Yeah, and I'm black... except for my skin color of course..
  14. Okay, here's one obvious question: What is the difference between a BIN and a reverse-auction with set BIN? None The latter just takes up more time and effort. Now if you're talking a scenario where someone could put a $100 BIN on an auction for a VG ASM 150, then auction it off for $6, then it's a pure auction and people will abuse the "fair BIN" just like they do now when "taking offers".
  15. See what I mean. I think the VCCE War is back on. P.S. You should see the size of my war chest.
  16. Sure, I did, but I certainly didn't notice any reciprocal behavior from the VCCE.
  17. In-between offers and building inspection. The last one was really nice -pool, deck, huge back yard - but too bad about the slope.
  18. Nah, none of the VCCE will sell to me anyway, so that's no angle.
  19. Ask banner - he seems to be headlining all these looser interpretations of the board guidelines.
