  1. Are any of you drunken fools *cough* cd4ever *cough* going to be mass-listing tonight?
  2. Kudos to: BigHulkFan & Monkeyman for some nice books. (thumbs u
  3. I agree, but I'm buying so much lately that I really need to get my collection in order. I went through my "office pedigree" (recent purchases) and found books I forgot buying a month back. Just no time lately, with all the weddings, resort escapes and kid activities.
  4. I remember the Gas 'n Sip reference from Say Anything, but not that exact quote.
  5. I do not think that means what you think it means. If I go out on Saturday night, then I will miss out on a lot of deals. Unless you believe everyone is buying and selling their books from a laptop at the local nightspot.
  6. It looks like if you have an actual life, and go out on the weekend, you lose on a ton of good forum deals. Saturday night seems to be new listings night on the CGC boards.
  7. I meant real Moderns (generically speaking, not some weird Con variant or something) not Copper Age.
  8. So why do they define Bronze or Silver (since there isn't a SA/BA Tier), and include books up to 1982 in the BA sets? It's obvious that the truly Modern sets are mostly consistent 9.8+ runs that anyone can get on EBay/CL/Pedigree/etc. in a short period of time. No challenge, no set differentiation, and thus CGC has to move 32 years into the past for a "Modern" set.
  9. Don't worry, it'll all come around eventually, and since CGC rotates awards, everyone will have a plaque or two in a few years.
  10. WTF is this listed under Modern? Do the real Modern sets suck so hard,as it's pretty easy to snag a run of 9.8 copies, that they have to go back to the mid-70's? Hello... CGC-fly... anybody home... those books are now 32 years old!!
  11. The quote is "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." And yeah. I feel pretty confident in my understanding of the word irony. For today's lesson, you can look up "paraphrasing". A restatement of a text or passage, using other words. Basically, I combined the two sentences into one, and made it fully understandable (and familiar) in a single statement. Your anal-nerd regurgitation proves I did it perfectly.
  12. Not at all - look at Deathlok and Timulty - Tim has seriously thick skin to put up with that absolutely insane harassment for as long as he did. These sociopaths often just pick someone out and troll them, for whatever reason. Oh the irony... My God! It's full of . . . irony. I do not think that word means what you think it means.
  13. Not at all - look at Deathlok and Timulty - Tim has seriously thick skin to put up with that absolutely insane harassment for as long as he did. These sociopaths often just pick someone out and troll them, for whatever reason. Oh the irony... What? I am the furthest from a troll/stalker as you can get. I treat everyone equally, depending on what comes out of your pie-hole, and anyone can attest to this. I may be mean sometimes, but I'm equal-opportunity mean.
  14. I did not see anything resembling a "personal attack" but I didn't exactly live in the thread.

  16. No, he just had a different idea on what "complete" meant, and admittedly, has more individual DC comics that the other person.
  17. That's a very nice looking book - well-centered, good color, etc.
  18. If it's bought and sold in an open forum, and not via PM, then I see no reason why the price shouldn't stay visible. Plus, it's fun to see what sold for how much, and it helps you gauge whether the prices are agreeable to your budget.
  19. Dang, I shouldn't have outlined my "50% cash value scam" beforehand.
  20. If that's what you agree to, but if I traded $500 CGC books with you, then upon receipt of your book, told you I had already sold my book (and yours), and stated I would only pay $250 for yours, would that be fair?
  21. But Jim, the point is that Lonestar was the one to halt any future business transactions, and essentially halve the amount of "comic money" he was owed. No matter how you feel about the OP, what happened is dead wrong and highly unethical. I doubt you would side with Lonestar if you had traded in some CGC books worth $1K+ GPA, and then Buddy immediately booted you and offered a "my way or the highway" $500 cash offer for the books (which they'd already sold for $1500). If not, then send all your HG CGC picture frames over here and I'll pay you half-price for them.
