  1. Circa 1978, you're looking at a Whitman variant.
  2. Internal art from the book I assume. I am guessing the mags were text with some graphics.
  3. Ah, then Dark Talisman must be where this is from:
  4. Okay, it's been awhile, but here are some kudos for some forum deals. I apologize in advance, if I left anyone off the list.... Without further ado, here are kudos... To nochips for another super transaction - very nice grading and fast shipping. To drbanner for yet another stack of well-graded Bronze books. To nikos for some value-priced, well-graded Bronze comics - just a super guy to deal with. To tkg2627 for a yet another super transaction. He's the Canadian drbanner. And to greggy for bending me over for another of his over-priced CGC books. But then again, the guy shipped it out minutes after I won the book, so it wasn't all bad.
  5. Good job... now we just need scans of #2 and #3.
  6. I recently saw a guy sell a few of these off with BINs, though I think he only got $100 a copy.
  7. Is someone going to post a cover or two, or will this just be the "Retards with Emoticons" show?
  8. Kudos to nikos as well for a superbly-packed, lightning-shipped, well-graded (some might say under-graded) pack of comic goodness!!
  9. Hey, it was only ONE issue of Phantom Stranger. The books came in yesterday, and kudos back to banner for another nice set of lightning-shipped, well-packed comics.
  10. Thanks for the test, but I never understood why it was even in doubt. After all, why in the world would standard backing board manufacturers spend MORE to treat one side of the board, if you weren't actually *supposed* to use it?
  11. You guys had to pay sales tax on comics? Canadians don't pay sales tax? Not when I was a kid, and I remember the hue and cry over adding GST to books awhile back. Canada is not a bad place to live tax-wise, assuming you don't drink, smoke or drive a car.
  12. Just wanted to give the thumb's up to ArAich, divadrabnud, drbanner, tkg2627 and JiveTurkeyMoFo for some nice books.
  13. Well, that crosses Mr "Leave the Forum in a Huff" off the list, as he came pretty late to the variant party.
  14. Trust me, it's a reality. I've been searching for variants since I was first on EBay, and the numbers aren't even close. I don't think that question is even open for debate, but what remains to be seen is exactly how rare 30 and 35-cent variants are in general.
  15. I hope 35-centers drop, as I need to fill a few Byrne holes. One thing is for sure, 35-cent variants are exponentially rarer than 30-centers, and I think it's just supply and demand at work. I have 30-centers I'd love to sell, but at current prices, they're staying put. On the other hand, I have sold 35-centers and will probably continue to do so until the time prices drop. It's the old "worth more in the collection" thing going on.
  16. This is the variant I never thought I'd see and my answer to the "what's the rarest comic book?" question. I honestly didn't think a copy existed.
