  1. Five... simple.... 1) 1st wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread 2) Payment is Check/Money Order. I don't like e-places other than right here on these boards 3) Shipping: There's a lot of odd-shaped items here, but shipping will generally be USPS Priority, so likely between $8 and $15, unless you go hog wild, or your items are strictly the media mail eligible ones (eg - paperpacks). 4) Don't be listy including the little one in my head 5) Returns: No returns on CGC-graded books; other items, sure just notify me within three days of receipt and get it back to me in the same shape, on your dime. Kudos thread is linked under my avatar.
  2. Frequently Asked Questions About Readcomix’ Vainglorious Foray to Bring Sexy Back to Mixed With the Power of “You Might Find It!” Q: Will this thread offer a diversity of material from all ages, even the dopey ones that we don’t really need to assign names to but people like to argue about what to call them anyway??? A: Yes! Q: What other comic-related material will it feature besides regular ol funnybooks? A: There will also be slabs, paperback books, trade paperbacks, possibly treasuries; there will also be magazines, men’s adventure magazines (aka sweat mags), Mad magazines, maybe even some OA. And of course the truly oddball stuff that I have laying around will be in this one too...we’re bringing sexy back to Mixed; it’s gonna take the kitchen sink! Q: Isn’t it true that your threads are usually populated by eerie thread-krapping boardie denizens who like to stay up late and drink bizarre elixirs while perusing comics??? A: Yeah! They’re awesome! Q: When does this lunacy commence???? A: As soon as possible, but I haven’t shot a thing yet, just started stacking goodies (some of which I’m being slowed by, by rereading them). Stay tuned, because....when you least expect it....You Might Find It! Bwahahahahaha!

  4. And this may not be a classic in the traditional sense, but it’s a throwback outlier for the copper age. I’ve always appreciated it for the pre-code vibe.
  5. March 11, 1970-stamped Flessel strip; Myra tells her dad she got engaged. thanks Eddie!
  6. March 13, 1970-stamped strip (engagement announcement) Thanks Jonathan!
  7. Would really like to find homes for these so I can open a Golden Age Fawcett thread....here's my NFS keeper from the three, for the curious....
  8. This was their first crossover of their universes, though the Wizard of Oz treasury preceded it as their first cross-company collaboration. I would love a reprint volume of their early crossovers; both Superman/Spider-Man treasuries, Batman/Hulk, and I guess X-Men/Teen Titans. I think these were the only ones in the first wave. Am I forgetting any from this period? Weren’t the rest in the 90’s or thereafter? I guess you could make it a bigger volume by putting the Wizard of Oz in there, and reprinting the unpublished Perez pencils from the first JLA/Avengers project. A bit of it appeared in an issue of Comics Interview, IIRC. It’s in my Avengers boxes somewhere.
  9. It's kind of like a land trust -- a non-profit to keep land forever wild/green. Except its not land to maintain and preserve, but a single, portable (if fragile) object. So you've effectively got a 1-piece museum.
  10. This just in! From @spidermanbeyond Thanks Perry! The Path Forward gift pack; awesome book, 4 AMC black tickets and N95 masks to use them with. I picked from one of the very last slots and wound up with two picks and a bonus, all awesome — the Holiday Raffle rewards from all slots! (And the biggest reward comes from gifting fellow boardies.) Happy holidays to all!
  11. Early Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies too — the Leon Schlesinger covers on some of those first 20 or so are pretty cool.
  12. I always liked that GL cover too. The alien giant Gila monster in the desert gives it a very 50’s sci-fi movie feel.
  13. Hmm... Like I said, comps were tough to find for these. Let's do $125 each. That way, you're into a Flessel piece for less than a buck-fifty shipped.
  14. Spawn #12 cgc 9.8 white pages, sig series; Todd McFarlane $150
  15. Reserved due to exalted status of second post around here....
