  8. Evening. I'm supposed to be leaving this thread alone, but what can you do when you find this in a box for two quid? What do you mean, 'leave it there'? It reprints this: Comparing the placement of the indicia data on my stickerless copy, and this other stickered UK distribution copy (not mine), the production values were demonstrably top notch I'll see you again if I ever find another cheap pre-60s book in a box.
  9. Yes! I have that bookmarked as 'L Miller demise'. I've got quite a few Miller websites bookmarked as it goes. Not sure why, but I find I lose interest a bit when reading what others have researched and written about him. I realise that I like to do the discovering myself. I'll never forget that well known UK expert dealer who scoffed "There are no Charlton pence copies!" that time, when I enquired after his stock. He soon shut up when I showed him the several hundred confirmations (at the time) within the 834 possibilities....
  10. What are you doing in here, Paq! The GCD entry here indicates it's a UK publication which reprints original US content: "Seems to be taken from the splash panel of Captain Marvel Battles the World's Maddest Ghost! from Fawcett's Captain Marvel Adventures #138 (November 1952)." Like all 1950s Millers, it will definitely be B&W inside.
  11. The result of ten minutes mucking about this afternoon...
  12. A nice Roberts & Vinter ~ Thorpe & Porter ~ L Miller stamp triple from Sunday's fair
  13. "Better back away, gents! Yore out-numbered! It's only the three of yuh against the Rawhide Kid!" "What am I, Scotch mist?" "Eh?" "I take you everywhere, with never a word of thanks, and when the action starts it's just you, isn't it. Always just you" "Huh?" "How about "Yore out-numbered! It's only the three of yuh against the Rawhide Kid and Barry" How about that for a change?" "Gee Barry, I never knew you felt that way, bein a horse an all" "Talk properly! Yore, yuh, an all. Did you go to school or what?" ~ "Boss, shall we just shoot these two clowns?" "Quiet Clive, I'm listening to the horse"
  14. “The time is out of joint: O cursed spite / That ever I was born to price it right!"
  15. Nothing strikes greater fear in the heart than a little tuft of hair BUD-UD-UD-AH!
  16. "Well, don't leave us in feckin suspense, what is it?"
  17. My favourite Bob joke: "I still enjoy sex at 68. Well, I live at number 66 it's no distance"
  18. It looks like there was a sticker there at some point, too. We could probably do a separate 'well placed stamps' thread and have no trouble keeping it going. Do you remember my moon montage? I can't find it in the files I always liked my old ASM #25 copy too, balancing the tee&pee... Someone start a new thread.
  19. That's one of the letters I was referring to earlier, yes. I think I saved something about the bankruptcy somewhere where you can go and view the actual record. It was during Covid, so I parked it. Will have a hunt around.
