  1. Thanks - your analysis is great by the way Rob. And it is a historic sale. But am I right to conclude that some potential bidders may have been excluded? Not only on the AF15 but on some of the books that immediately followed? The Internet issue appears to have affected people in several locations. I'm slightly puzzled by the low key response to it and feel I must be missing something.
  2. Internet bidding did not, as many reported the site crashing at the start and not recovering until we'll into the ASMs. The ASM1 9.4 was sold to the Internet - it follows therefore that bids could have been missed, unless you have information that I don't? Also, the ASM1 initially showed online as unsold to me when I finally managed to join online. Do we know what happened there?
  3. Yes, he beat me to it. The memory can cheat well, I find. It's a wonderful thing, but sometimes a little unreliable.
  4. I'm sure you are right. As I said in the other thread though, I would be concerned what would happen to the book if, say, it was turned upside down or took a jolt. There appears to be a small amount of travel distance within the inner well and the angled cut of the book means that the top left edge could meet the inner indentation curve before the rest of the book. It appears to me that the top edge of the comic could be bent in line with that indentation if the book were to travel within the inner sleeve. That is all I am commenting on, that possibility and what looks like a small fragment in the case. This is a 4M book potentially - I think it is reasonable to question both elements accordingly, based on what the high definition scans provided appear to show. I would want confirmation that both scenarios are not as they appear for such a high value/profile book. Anyway, the shows starts shortly.
  5. I have a copy with my page, I think. Be back soon Reggie....
  6. You're the third person from the technical community I've seen say that across different threads - look at the server logs. CGC staff refuse to communicate with us on this current issue. Not one word have they said on this forum about what is going on. They even effectively ignore those who give their time to support the site. So tell us, please, Universal Soldier, in layman's terms - is it likely that there is a real problem that they are struggling to fix, or is it just that no one has gotten around to looking into it because they are too busy with other things? Is it likely that this site would be bedeviled by the same daily problems for months and they not be able to fix it? If the RDJ signing event were dependent on this forum being available at all times, would they suddenly find a way to fix it?
  7. Thank you? I think they got the first word wrong Albert. And Nylie Ridge? What is that, an anagram or something out of the Kama Sutra?
  8. Looks like fun to me Voord. There's some stuff I wanted to post, but I can't get the pictures to add due to the board issues (it's 500 error code time again). Someone definitely needs to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow...
  9. Indeed. And we watched it live on the telly Zukes, me and thee! We're all out of Cherryade so Marwood has just cracked open a crate of Tizer. The finest wines available to humanity weren't available, alas, but you can't have everything can you. Enjoy your pence copy Gad. One day, it will buy you a house
  10. Anyway, ninety five grand for the pence AF15. Shterlin, that is. Sooper!
  11. No, I do it on purpose because I like mucking about.
  12. Told ya. It aint over until the big bird has sung her song. Given the possible reservations I outlined earlier though, that's an amazing price really. No pun in ten did.
  13. He called it a "UK Edition" about fifty times Albert, so I don't think it registered. Or it did, and he was just taking the piss.
  14. It'll be interesting to see how they describe it. "We've been told by a guy called Albert Tatlock from the United States of England that this is actually a You Kay Price Variant....."
