  1. Chipping in, we know that the covers were printed separately to the guts so, prior to assembly, there would have been a pile of US priced covers and a smaller pile of Canadian. The time it takes to change the price plate isn't overly relevant. The innards run would presumably have been set to ensure enough guts were printed to satisfy the US and Canadian cover volumes combined. That leaves three piles: A run of guts A run of US covers A run of Canadian covers The instruction to the assembly crew would have been: Add guts to the Canadian covers Add guts to (for arguments sake) 90% of the US covers For the remaining 10% of the US covers, add guts and a MJI advert (being a fourth pile of course) In theory, all that is needed for a MJI to appear in a Canadian copy is a bit of human error at the assembly stage. Do you think something like that is possible...?
  2. It's nice when the pieces of the puzzle fit, isn't it Rich. You've got competition, by the way...
  3. I would've started today, but the shops are shut over here
  4. Pond forum Is anyone else getting this every time they go to log in?:
  5. I can't find any related setting in the existing notifications framework, so it may be being offered to us erroneously.
  6. @comicdonna I've tried twice to accept the push notification prompt, but it stays stuck on 'enabling' so there might be a glitch in the system:
  7. You must have notifications switched off Robot Man, as quite a few people tagged you. I'm delighted to have won and am grateful to all those who put me forward for consideration. Adamantium sent me a PM the other week reminding me this was due, and saying he hoped I'd win which was kind of him. His heart is in the right place even if the words in his sentences are sometimes not. I replied something along the lines of 'not a cat in hell's chance' and thought no more of it, but here we are. I've always wanted Porcupine Jim to win myself, he embodies the spirit of the place for me, but sadly he's not around these days. I think I may be the first Brit to win, which is nice if so, and I was going to make something of that but decided against it as there were too many negative people in the thread, pissing into the tent. Nonetheless, I'm pleased to think that I've done something here that others felt worthy of recognition
  8. Nice My Uncanny Tales #104 arrived, so I have three of the four now: It's actually a great example of where the reprint gives you more of the original artwork than the original: Cool.
  9. I think it's a way of getting notifications when you do not have the CGC site open - explanation here: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/web-push-notifications-native-sharing-offline-support-r1222/ In layman's terms, if you accept them (I see the notifications alarm bell now prompts you every once in a while) you would get a pop up on screen to say you had a CGC related notification when you were online but did not have the CGC forum open. So you could be browsing eBay and a pop up would appear to say that someone had sent you a PM etc. I may try it and see what happens, next time it shows.
  10. We did Gary, yes, you're right. Time to let it go now on Marvel, I think, for me. Let the value boys - and the actual active collectors - take over. Marvel UK Price Variants.... I let you go.
  11. Cor, has it been that long? Three years of Ross Ramblings. I'm on the road today, observing an anniversary of my own, otherwise I'd have made more of it. Just stopped for coffee. We didn't do too badly, between us, did we?
  12. I always thought that "FAK!" was an odd choice of sound affect for the Tarantulas kick. I mean, what the FAK were they thinking there?
  13. That dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooesn't wooooooooooooooooooooooork ooooooooooooooooooooooooooon my desktoooooooooooooooooooop Ken.
  14. Indeed. One encapsulates the true wonder of nature, in all its dazzling, terrifying majesty... And the other is the Langjokull glacier. (How do you get the two dots above the 'o' Ken?)
  15. I love the slight miscut on that copy. I've never read it - what was the secret of the flying saucers, Rick? Do you remember?
  16. 'Puffin' normally describes me as I get up after eating a McDonalds, funnily enough Joking aside, that sounds lovely. I'd have loved to have seen the printing press.
  17. It's a tough choice alright, Ken. Reykjavik, Iceland or Thetford McDonalds
  18. Snap. I saw this the other month in Rotten Ronnie's car park in Thetford: Not as exotic as Iceland of course, but the sausage and egg muffins are great.
