  1. And in a break with our usual programming, Marwood Towers presents: "Kermit Comes a Cropper" “Oh Kermit?” “Yes Miss Piggy?” “Here’s twelve cents – go and get me a Charlton comic from the corner shop” “This is America Miss Piggy - don’t you mean the mall or something more American sounding?” “Don’t be smart with me frog. Just take the damn twelve cents and buy the comic. And no funny business. Remember what happens when you disappoint me….” “I’ll be fine Miss Piggy, don’t worry…”
  2. One meelion sesterces. There isn't one Cal. A pence copy I mean. That's what we call a ND copy in the UK (Post Man "No Deliver" copy, stoopit iriot ).
  3. I used to Cal, yes. I had about a hundred different ASM errors at one point of varying descriptions. I used to wind up the old STL forum members with them before the site sadly went kaput. The green Spidey #5 was another cool one. I put them all in a thread once I think, somewhere. They all went long ago now, alas. I just kept the #65 because it was so unusual.
  4. 22% on top of the hammer price as well I think. Someone got carried away....
  5. The ASM #65 Cal? You'll be hard pushed - I've only ever seen two copies like it. Cool isn't it.
  6. Ah, sorry Reggie. I lose track of what's been covered sometimes.
  7. You're right Gary, yes. All the X-Men were unmarked cents copies too. So either someone sold twenty grand of comics for three and a half or someone lost three and a half grand....
  8. Did somebody mention Charlton? No? Well why not? Don't answer that. Two here, both advertising themselves inside: Blue background variant cover: Red W variant: Hopefully I'm not spoiling anything, but Joe lives. Otherwise it would be a Joe Loss.
  9. No Comic, No-Man. No Comic, No Badge. Said, said, said I remember, when-are-a-we were kids. In the run down town, of Barking. Obba obba serving, the comicizz. Shut up. Anyone ever get the badge?
  10. Never one to take a crashing silence as discouragement to continue, I was taken by this scenario earlier in the month from the bay of the E which told me much about the nature of humanity. I see this lot appear one morning: On close inspection, there are a few 'hidden gems' shall we say: Too good to be true, surely. But where would you get a set of pictures like that? Being an altruistic type, and thinking of the the possible 'poor old chap who doesn't realise what he has but needs money to survive etc scenario', I dutifully send a PM telling them what they have, what it's all worth, and not to be bulldozed by the 60,000 dealers that will imminently be in touch with 'kind offers'. I am thanked heartily, and the listing disappears. Ditto the sellers only other X-Men listing: I feel like I have done a good thing. Because, of course, I am stupid. A few days later, I see this in eBore sold: Oh dear It includes the X-Men lot too. All that for three and a half gees. Later that week, I see this listing from another new seller: And later still, I see this: I then realise that we have two sellers, both new, both selling rare expensive comics in the same week. Oh, and a few cheap Disney things: And my heart sinks. Nice people out there, isn't there.
  11. And on the subject of mysteries, why do they call this title “Six Gun Heroes” when there are demonstrably only four of them?
  12. Those of you who have been paying attention will likely be wondering when you'll be getting your refunds. Attention clearly made off with the goods and the money. Never stand to attention. Or trust it. It will only take your money. Talking of money, my deep dive into Harvey (get your jokes in now) revealed a 100% Miller distribution monopoly, that is, that every single copy showing it's face in Blighty was Miller stamped. Here's an example from July 1961: I see you! Miller stamped on Harvey from 1959 all the way up to 1970, which was odd given that Miller sold up to Class in 66. Maybe they kept the distribution arm though So Harvey was in bed with Miller and only Miller in the UK and obviously spurned the advances of Porter and Thorpe. Maybe they smelled. It makes this book an oddity though, correctly priced for the period: And what do you think you're doing on there! I quite like Harveys, incidentally.
  13. Yes, #58 is hard to come by and I overpaid for my copy by some margin just to complete the Miller set thinking I may not get another chance. That's one of the drawbacks of freely posting comic research - you mobilise the competition.
  14. It'll come Gary. Next one I see I won't bid on and will send you a PM. They're like buses sometimes you know, so keep em peeled as Shaw Taylor used to say.
  15. Not at all, you keep it Mikey. Keep going for the set mate
  16. I wonder what happened to her brother Bodie? Middle name Norman, as I recall.
  17. Do you remember John Junkin, Albert? He was on the Sweeney the other week.
