  2. Hopefully NickiO will feed that suggestion back
  3. OK, thanks, so it seems that @scburdet can send in his Secret Wars as is, with the transfers attached, confident that it will be graded. That specific case aside, I do think it is possible for CGC to provide standard criteria as to the slabbing of comics and magazines that come with free gifts attached / present. I would imagine that an 'if it's flat we can, if it's not we can't' position would cover the majority of potential submission types. A 'this is what we can', 'this is what we can't', 'this is how we will treat them' section on the main page would be great to see, in the same way that you have a section on how polybags are treated. Perhaps you could feed that suggestion back to the grading team for us? The UK especially has a lot of comics with free gifts so you will always be coming up against this question.
  4. Roger that. I went looking for my Man Whose Teeth Were All Exactly Alike and found this instead: I read this in paperback form many years ago and the 2374 Exegesis followed me around ever since. This is a nice big chunky 1st edition from 1989. I think I'll give it another go at some point this year.
  5. Hello NickiO This question comes up often, and sometimes the answers provided aren't always consistent. Below is the most recent one that I can find, from your colleague CrystalM (hoping the 'M' doesn't stand for Meth). If you think about it, there are only really two types of free gift. Flat ones, like stickers, transfers etc, which can sit inside a slab without causing damage to the comic, and items that aren't flat like badges and toys and such. Obviously, they can't go in the slab. Would it be possible for CGC to develop one stock answer which could then be placed in the glossary or 'what we can and can't slab' page? You could then refer each questioner to that. It doesn't already exist, does it?
  6. That Golden Man cover is a bit off putting, isn't it And wasn't that a short story? I remember reading it in a UK version of collected stories.
  7. @ADAMANTIUM Mark, I don't follow registry related stuff but I noticed that there is a new registry related addition to our profile pages - see below: You can access it on the left hand page (desktop) by selecting the 'See My Activity' button. It may have been noted already, but I thought you were the man to tell if not, as you'll likely understand it's significance / potential use
  8. Later reprints date it at 1955, before my area of interest, but I'll see if I can snag it Actually, @Malacoda, Rich do you want to go for this? Content looks promising and I think it sits better with you: Ethel gets a mention on page one
  9. Good spot Kev. Later reprints date it at 1955, before my area of interest, but I'll see if I can snag it
  10. Before and after: It's still showing on our profile pages though:
  11. That's nice You could try posting it here, AP: https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/28424-celebrate-the-double-covers/?do=findComment&comment=12762765 The specific post that the hyper link takes you to, and the resulting discussion, gives an indication as to CGC's policy.

    No.285 (June 1970)

They're quite clever, some of these covers
  13. The boards are extremely quiet now so you've done well to get to three pages Eric. Blade Runner is the film that likely brought PKD to most people's attention and that film is loved to this day. I wouldn't be surprised if more join in here, if you bump it every so often. I have a few more items dotted about, and will post them when I find them. I bought a nice hardback copy of The Man Whose Teeth Were All Exactly Alike last year (always loved that title) but can't seem to find it. It's probably acting as a comic box gap filler somewhere. Thanks for starting the thread
  14. Last bump from me, with just over one day to go before sign up ends on Tuesday January 23rd 8:00 PM Eastern time. 23 places left for a chance at securing: Top of the table 'I am truly in tune with CGC grading standards' glory Middle of the table 'I could've been a contender if it wasn't for....' mild irritation Bottom of the table 'WTF happened there' ignominy A whole load of mucking about with gifs and stuff CGC funded riches to the tune of are once again on offer.... 15. I have that power. I had to stop using it though, as every time I did it half the people I knew went missing.
