  1. 1962, so too early for The Clash, but this song seems appropriate for our Valerie's plight*... *That's Valerie Kruger on the cover by the way
  2. Stop responding to my posts, insect. Is there a block list that I can add this nuisance to? Guys, You can ignore each other if you want to as follows. Select 'Forums', then 'My Settings', then 'Ignored Users': In the next screen, start to type the name of the member you wish to ignore into the 'add new user' box to bring up the member list: Add the member then you wont see the content of their posts anymore. Alternatively, you could try to get along. You both have made decent posts as far as I can see and have something to offer. Having fights in public alienates people. I know, as I annoyed a lot of people when I first joined. And still do probably! But take it from me, you'll regret putting people off in the end. They are likely the people you will want at a later date to get on with. Good luck
  3. I never tire of comics. Its one of the few things in life, along with music, that makes me feel truly content. Pottering away with them, filing, collecting, researching. All the usual things we love - the smell, look, touch, a longing for the simple days of our youth. I can't afford the books I would like to buy anymore, and, like many I suspect, I would like to skip back 20 or 30 years and be alive again then so I could really live out my love for the medium. Not because the stuff would be cheaper, but because it would be available! Some days I long to go out and visit the comic shop I have in my mind and root around in it. But it doesn't exist anymore. The golden age of comics has gone for me. I still enjoy staying in the hobby by collecting things that most don't care about. If you'd have told me 20 years ago I'd be searching for pence copies of Gold Key Tom and Jerry's I'd have laughed at you. But it keeps me in the comic world and keeps me content. But I do sometimes get tired of it all, and a break tends to reinvigorate my interest. To give you an example, it's a beautiful sunny day here today and I've just realised I've been at the computer most of the day researching. I enjoyed it of course, but a part of me is saying "go out.....live..." Know what I mean?
  4. Afternoon The Kid popped in today. Well, ages ago actually but I've only just gotten around to assimilating him That's the wrong Borg isn't it It was TGK 59 to be precise. Isn't he lovely, made from love: No cover stamp this time. Brings us up to 17 confirmed of 22 possible: I've got a lead on Wyatt by the way. Watch this space... Here's the Killer Miller filler: Nice splash isn't it: Lee, Kirby and Ayers. What a trio. They should've called it the Three-Gun Kid. One either side and one in the back pocket. Here's his temporary tomb. And his bruddas, 54, 55, 56 and 57... 58 is on a prodigal sabbatical. But he will come. Oh yes, he will come. Won't he?
  5. The rocket was ready and everything. That's some unhappy Clangers I tell you.
  6. No I don't. And that's my final word on it. You are poisoning the boards for me with this feud. Let's hope moderation agree, and invite you to stop responding to Stu. Whenever someone disagrees with you in a way you cannot handle, you ask them to put you on ignore. So I ask you to take your own advice and put Stu on 'ignore' by ignoring him.
  7. @cgcmod8 When are moderation going to put a stop to this nonsense? This is a comic forum, not a fight club for personal vendettas to be played out day after day, ruining thread after thread. Can you put a stop to it please?
  8. Silly isn't it. I'll stick to my D ick Tracy comics.
  9. What would you put it at Bob? I struggle with books that are in good shape aside of one eye watering flaw. Is 3.0 too high?
  10. Rock, you asked me not to engage with you some time back and I stuck to that. So forgive me for just making this one and only intervention. It seems that every thread I open to read lately I find you and Stu arguing in it. I won't speak for others, but this back and forth between you two is boring in the extreme. Because Stu creates new I.D.s constantly, you can't ignore it. So I find myself giving up on threads because they just become endless streams of bickering between you two. There is no element of your feud that I have not read about 50 times. There is nothing left to know about your feud. Would you do me a favour, and stop responding to Stu. When you respond, you give him the oxygen of publicity and it encourages him. If you ignore him, and just report his post, it will be removed. I'm sure you will frustrate him more by ignoring him than by constantly trying to out argue him. Please, please, put a stop to it. Only you can do that. Stu cannot be reasoned with. Stop responding to him.
  11. Joking aside, the cover looks like a 7.0. The back cover is devastating. The seller may have thought a few points reduction, hence 5.5. They say CGC hammer stains and this one is awful. Personally, I would feel bad grading it higher than a 3.0, sorry. Others may disagree. Lovely cover though.
  12. I'd change the thread title quickly, before the stain joke brigade arrive.
  13. Just had a look Oak. They're cool. I noticed I couldn't like the journal itself, or the initial entries you made in it. I could only like the comments. This is yet another drawback with the new format. If, like yourself, you make the opening post the journal/entry, readers can't like it. They can only make a comment, or like subsequent comments that you or others make. So you probably feel your efforts are less appreciated because many would've liked your opening 'post' if they could. It's hard to put into words because it's all so needlessly involved. The journal is actually just a heading sitting over the entries. The journals within it are the entries. The opening post in the entry can't be liked, or quoted. The subsequent posts are comments. It's all totally contrary to what we are used to. But look, what do I know. The new journals are great. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise....
