  1. Thank you Donny. But this is not a, puppy love.
  2. You're not wrong. Just like life really - a handful of people souring it for everyone while those in charge stand idly by. It's rare a thread reads as a good natured exchange of views. Someone always has to be in charge and have the last word. Bit of a turn off isn't it. Must go see this film. Looks promising.
  3. Oh. I thought this was going to be another thread about the boards.
  4. Hulk likes Incredible Hulk AUS copies. Incredible Hulk AUS copies are cool. But if nesqrick2 collector should not post a full run of AUS Hulk, and 'miss out a few copies', then Hulk will SMASH!
  5. If anyone can find them, you can nesqrick. No AUS can hide from you!
  6. Patient: Doctor, my arm hurts in three places. Doctor: Well, don't go to those places.
  7. Cheers Stephen. It's not as hard as it looks, once you get the hang of it. I agree about the labels - the spreadsheet ones are temporary until I make my mind up. If I drop down dead, I want whoever finds them to know they're special
  8. Owing any copy of Superman #1 is a dream that the majority of collectors will never fulfil. So if owing a copy is on your 'must have' list, you've achieved a rare feat and can be happy. If you are personally happy with restored books - many are not - you have that option if you can afford it. Or, you could save the money you'd spend on resto and trade this up for a better copy, again if you can afford it. There are no right or wrong answers - only what you desire to do, and can afford to do. Personally, I'd leave it as is and brag at every opportunity that I had it. But if I could afford it, I'd try for a more visually pleasing copy. Or buy a car.
  9. @Bomber-Bob This is quite common in my experience Bob. Here's two more examples where the vertex is on the cover, lifted from ebay: In both cases it's just a miswrapped cover, and the spine will be white. I had a good few Spideys like it. Just a natural production flaw in my view. You can see less of the cover to the right accordingly where the book was cut square. No different to a regular miswrapped book. As for whether CGC should take note of it, I dunno. They used to note miswraps didn't they? I suppose the book is structurally sound in terms of it's grade, but visually flawed because of the miswrap. Presumably this is why we have CVA, to tell us the perfectly wrapped 9.8 version is 'better' than the imperfectly wrapped 9.8
  10. The two bagged copies are cool. Interesting that they made AUS copies too
  11. Thanks for checking. I have PW 89 as an ongoing ebay search and have done for years. Flipping annoying when they don't show up! 16. Well, would you credit it. Two new books from a newcomer! @GARYSTAR, please let me join @rakehell in welcoming you to the forum. And what a great opening post! Two new books taking us to a total now of 3,014 confirmed pence copies. Yaaay! You are very, very welcome here and I hope you'll stick around Lets take a closer look at your two finds We all expected that JIM #70 existed, hence it's appearance on the 'missing list', the list of books that we believe should, or could, have a pence copy. I've added your copy to the files... ...and updated the spreadsheet: As rakehall said, take a look and see if you have any others - 61, 64 and 65 are all missing in action. They may not exist at all of course - see the three titles where I've marked gaps in yellow? The pattern suggests they all may not have been produced. Or they may! Now, my favourite of your two books by a county mile is our Patsy Aint that great! A thousand times I've searched that title! I had this title down on my 'no pence titles exist' list and this is the first time I've had to correct that as a result of a find in many years. Here is Patsy on the chart: If you look at the other entries, I always thought that Patsy & Hedy was the only title to get the pence treatment of this genre (funny girl / romance) until I found My Girl Pearl #7. Your find gives us hope that pence copies may indeed exist for the other titles. I've said this before, but I don't think people realise quite how scarce some of the early pence books are - especially for the non-super hero titles. I have never seen either of your two books once in ten years. So again, well done for posting them and please, check the list's I'm about to post of what does / does not exist and let me know if you have any others. Hope you stay with us Gary - not many pence fans on here, so I'm always delighted when someone new enters the fray Up to date lists to follow...
  17. Another Miller addition - Gunsmoke Western #62 No 6d cover stamp this time, but the indicia serves as confirmation: Updated chart: Still no sign of Wyatt.... Decided I didn't like the customised stickers in the mylites (see previous posts), so have opted for a temporary tomb instead while I make my mind up: I could well be the only person in the world trying to track these.....
  18. How about they just don't care? If there is evidence that they do, say in the form of an explanatory message / apology / recovery process for those affected etc, I haven't seen it. And by that, I don't mean to sound bitter, or to be making a cheap shot. I just don't see companies - big or small - doing the right thing anymore.
  19. I agree. Every day the problem is ignored is a day that further undermines the public's perception of their motives and integrity as a grading company. Comics are a visual medium and newton rings destroy the visual aspect of the encapsulated book. No serious player would tolerate such a problem. They should be falling over themselves to solve this problem. Does anyone in life do the right thing anymore?
  20. Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body? I dunno.
  21. Yes, it does dry after a while doesn't it Ken.
  22. Must....not...make. ..shih tzu joke....must....resist....
