Ah, I can see a similarity, yes. Especially in the hands... Cheers @Chaykin Stevens ! (great board name by the way Shaky )

Cheers - I have 3 Andru Spidey pages in all. Love that blokes art. The UK reprints alternated between using the US cover art - though sometimes amended - and brand new art. Examples here for the ASM 178 & 179 reprints to illustrate the point: In the landscape issues you had two pages of the US originals reprinted side by side per page - I can't find a single example on the web or eBay at present. People are so lazy with their eBay photos! I don't know much about who drew the 'new' covers. I did own one piece a few years back but never discovered who it was by, whether it was used and, if so, in what title: I thought Spidey's face looked Romitaish, but the hands are terrible! There's probably some cool websites out there with all the info on them. I'll have to take a peak one day and see whats out there

2017 Green Eggs Grading Contest Round 5
Get Marwood & I replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
This round should separate the boys from the men! I've been slowly improving though, up another 8 places last round, so hoping to keep the winning streak going Great competition @thirdgreenham and @sckao - half way through and it's been great fun. For me, the learning curve is about trying to guess the CGC graders grade, not my own grade. They appear to be some way apart! If I end up in the top half, I'll be happy -
Great thread The period I look back on the most fondly is the 1978-1980 period when I really got into comics in a big way as a kid. I'd been collecting the UK reprints of Spidey for a few years and at the time, that was all I knew. Here's my Spidey Comics Weekly #1 that I used to have, alongside my brothers Mighty World of Marvel (1973, but we got them in 1978): The UK reprints were so good, and I especially liked the 'sideways' issues of Spidey: I must have read them a hundred times each. We had a local shop that sold old comics for between 1p and 5p each and the owner would just scribble a huge '3p' on the covers with a marker pen. That didn't bother me at the time. Then, one day in 1979 I went in to the shop and a new guy had set up a section in there (he later went into partnership with the owner and ultimately took it over completely). He had displayed on the wall the US original printings of ASM 176 to 180. I was transfixed. To this day, these are my favourite Spidey covers for reasons of pure nostalgia (that and being a confirmed Ross Andru appreciator). If we're limiting ourselves to only 3, here are mine: I still own 176-180 as a NM set. I couldn't bear to part with them during the big sell off. So for me, 1979 to 1980 will always be my favourite period. That being the case, you can imagine how happy I was to pick this up many years later:

Low Content Mode Week, Anagram Style with Action Comics!
Get Marwood & I commented on tomo's journal entry in Turning Bronze and Copper into Steel
You're getting quite good at these @tomo Never liked Lois Lane - she was 'all noise'. And as for kryptonite, well we all know that was just a 'pork entity'. -
Actually, he does. It's one of the additional benefits that are bestowed on all our 'Forumites of the Year'. Marwood thinks it sets a bad example - with great responsibility and all that. He complained to Archibald but found that he didn't give a rats backside, preferring to wash his hands of the whole grubby affair rather than uphold any principles of fairness. I myself of course try to rise above it all

Yep. It's funny how everyone has been getting in a tizzy over it. It's been threatened every year since at least 1982!

Hello @Subjekt-4 ! Can you give us some more to go on? The ebay listing number maybe, or a picture? If you mean the CGC case serial number above the barcode, they are unique. -
Yeeeeharrrgggghhh, that really hurt! Do it again.
