  1. It do! I got the image from Heritage which, despite being a US based company, is a great resource for high quality pence images. Many of the scans in my pence inventory came from their site. Are you a pence collector then @woowoo ? The X-Men #1 is a cracker
  2. I believe you Harry. Being an ex Spidey completist I used to have a pence SS 14 too, but it was a raw copy. Nice condition as I recall. I've got thousands of pictures of everything I used to own but lost all my appearance scans alas.
  3. Exactly. We had fun with that one back in the day, I can tell you Shatt(in)erhand keeps the tradition alive I suppose!
  4. Given the almost limitless opportunities for schoolboy humour in that title, I'm doubtful Hopeful, but doubtful.
  5. That number 12 is a beauty I've found only 8 pence Surfers - numbers 11 to 18: Here they be:
  6. Very nice. 5 years ago I'd have bid on them all. Nice to see a 262 with the Bose insert too. Hard to find and under appreciated. Good luck
  7. Very clever, but what else would one expect from the Batman. I do like the use of "high desire" too. Excellent
  8. I've lost track of what I posted here. Looks like a lot of stuff went with my Photobucket accident. Here are a few more while I've got the flash drive plugged in. If they're dupes, who cares.
  9. I dug out some of my old compooter records earlier to help try to answer a Canadian Price Variant question in another thread. Found some other old records I used to keep in relation to variants etc. Loads of the stuff. It occurs to me now that I used to take this stuff really seriously and that I've forgotten so much of it. Not sure what I was trying to achieve here, or indeed whether any of it is even accurate: Why anyone would even care what types of inserts existed in different ASM types escapes me now. Seems I did: But I do like these. I used to make stickers for the fronts of my Comic Boxes. There were many versions as I recall now, some of them very elaborate. These were the last ones I used - quite basic, but they looked pretty: And here are some of the tables I used in my little book to remind me of what existed etc: Happy days...
  10. Delving further into my old records it looks like I really used to take this stuff seriously! Not sure if they're accurate / up to date though.
  11. Found this tidy little summary of Amazing Spidey pence books in my old records just now while answering a Canadian price variant question elsewhere: I remember having the chance to snag an Amazing Fantasy #15 pence copy for £850 at the London Fair many years back (my copy is a cents). I ummed and ahhed and didn't go for it, foolishly (in hindsight) believing a better copy would be on the horizon. What a silly Billy..... I'd have loved to have shared a copy here in this thread. Of all the people in the world who should own a pence AF15 I'm one of them. And I don't. Marwood doesn't either. Bugger
  12. Hello @JTLarsen For Marvels, all Canadian Price Variants are newsstand copies so will have barcodes on the covers. The price is always higher than the US versions. So if you know your books and dates, you'll know for example that an ASM #238 is 60c in the US. So as soon as you see 75c, you know it's a Canadian. Examples below - US Direct Edition (60c) vs US Newsstand (60c) vs Canadian (75c): Here are the Marvel issue range dates for Spidey (I think the are the same for all Marvel titles): So in summary, there isn't a tell tale 'this is a Canadian copy' marker on the cover for Marvels, you have to know your dates and prices to be able to spot them. When hunting on eBay, type in a particular issue number and scroll down and a Canadian price will jump out at you if it's there. Not sure about DC though, I never looked into them. Hope this helps
  13. After my disastrous showing thus far I'm hoping for at least one this time. But it's likely I'll again and end up feeling
  14. If they are in any way indicative of the quality of your guesses, I'm in deep trouble
