  1. Cool, thanks. Great to see that so many people are joining, but a shame so few are actually posting. Wonder why I don't see them joining in the all activity screen though? Arch - what is this new 'pending approval' I'm seeing all of a sudden: Is that to head off all these silly questions we keep getting?
  2. Where are you getting those figures Arch? If I do a blank member search for the last month I get only 118 new members showing as joined. This is very much in line with the "So and so joined the community" advices you see in the 'all activity' screen. If it was 1K per month as you say, we'd be seeing over 30 of those advices per day wouldn't we?
  3. Being a mere Member I have to use them sparingly Janet, but you will get one from me when it's deserved. Fortunately for you you've got the Forumite of the Year rooting for you 24/7 so, with his superior daily SV like limit, bequeathed to him by Ar?chi?ba?ld, your continued ascendancy is assured
  4. I like where you're going with this @01TheDude. The book should have a voice though. Maybe a Kenneth Williams style one? In one scene he's screaming in terror as a CGC operative commences slabbing him. It would be like the ending of the Wicker Man. "Oh God! Oh Jesus Christ!" Later in the film the book is cracked open by a comic loving saviour in a truly uplifting scene representing the purity of freedom and liberation. Then Marvel could remake it, but with lots of Tony Stark references and with the book having staples that can see through walls and stuff. What do you think?
  5. Fair enough, you won Hector. Not that I like it of course
  6. I think it's obvious why it's not doing the numbers Marvel were hoping for. It's just not a very good film. I saw the first two Raimi films several times at the cinema. Twice on one day. They were great films with heart, strong characterisation, good plots and clever action scenes. Homecoming (I hate that title) was none of these things and it wouldn't bother me if I ever saw it again. I don't actually remember much about it, so underwhelming it was. Did it not start with a home video from Peter that went on for ages? What a terrible way to open a film. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that the 15 year old me would not have liked it either. A few admittedly quirkily scripted scenes do not add up to a satisfying whole. Where was the drama? Where was the game changing "whoah" scene? Where was the danger? Marvel were supposed to be 'bringing Spidey home' so the expectation for a satisfying tale was high. I can't begin to say how badly they did it, and how poorly conceived the whole film was. But I'll try if anyone wants to goad me! ?
  7. You don't have to hold your likes backAnd you don't have to play straight or fairNo you don't have to hold your likes backBaby it's alrightCos honey Arch don't care!Oh baby Arch don't care!Oh honey Arch don't care!No honey Arch don't care!
  8. Indeed he did Ken, indeed he did. Take it from me, bashing your head against a brick wall rarely ends with the break through you seek. Just a lot of blood and a terrible headache. Better to find a more productive pastime.....
  9. J Jonah Juggernaut? I feel a new thread brewing......
  10. That's a clever cover. You can imagine him saying, as they lead him to the chair: "I'm not sitting there - that things a death trap!"
  11. That was it! Courtesy of google.... Guess she's now officially an 'old flame'...
  12. It's his turn with Robin tonight! Holy crack whack !
