  1. When revisiting history portrayed in comics you absolutely must preserve and display the battle flags, propaganda and uniforms that every military actor took forward into battle. My grandad fought and survived the Battle at Anzio. We must never forget the evil the Nazis inflicted on the world. I asked him about his experience. He said when first going in to service he was not exactly sure what he was doing. But it became clear and real to him that Hitler needed to be stopped. Don’t “wash” (fix) away the insignia of terror the enemy of the world so proudly waved in our faces. I’ll be damned if grandad fought against an unidentifiable generic enemy. The casualties of that war staggering. The Nazis waged an unprecedented wave of terror against the free world. Preserve our comic history as it was. Here’s Grandpa Joe American hero may he Rest In Peace.
  2. Maybe this is the actual day the laughter died. Please censor Warriors 🛑 stop saving us from ourselves. 😤
  3. Latverian Tourism Board is on to it. I truly hope it wasn’t one of us that protested too much about hurt feelings. Our words are already used against us everywhere. But telling me to wipe that 😀off my face, or reading my mind by saying 😀 this means X. That goes to far. Randal Ries ( Don’t remove his post) also is on to something. Unsocial media with anonymity fueling the courage behind every post certainly has emboldened uncivil discourse. Hah discourse indeed. More like trolls with closed ears and ever open poison dripping mouths sub machine gunning the sounds of their own words. Still this group I argue is civilized in its discourse. I’ve always felt our group of merry posters are mostly fun loving lovers of comic art. When a post steps out of line (perception) the members can respond. We check ourselves. The more intense exchanges always dissipate into face saving draws. Then we get back on track talking about what we love. Art. So take these with ya 😀😂🤣😄😆😆😀😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
  4. Of course.....absolutely where I got my topic header from. Dice on that album more then a comedian. A freaking philosopher!
  5. 🎵 My my hey hey Thought the emoji was here to stay But someone got bored, and took it away Guess we used it too much and now we’ve lost our say 🎵 Sorry ( like sad or thanks) just don’t cut it when Vodou, exitmusicblue, Gene or any of my other homies drop a hilarious meme or stinging zinger. 🍇 + 🦍 considering his options. Never one to waste a topic tell me your thoughts but beware the Mods 😔 and while we’re at it..... What other areas of the comic art hobby and market have you personally felt the button removed from your life.
  6. I love the family. Just 🗑 the 🖼 Toss it in the bin!!! Michael One Minute Later I’m sure would be interested in the golden age art no?
  7. Wow that’s a neat page. Do you have any pages from Spectacular Spider-Man #21 ? My buddy Jordysnordy(on the boards) is trying to put the book together.
  8. This is awful news. Life is precious and you hate to see the sands of anyone’s hourglass run out. His work speaks for itself so all I can say is R I P. 🍇 + 🦍 😭
  9. + 1 I go to cons first to find and meet artists and if possible buy directly from them. Dealers God bless them can survive via online. In fact without naming names I know at least a few dealers disenchanted with costs vs. reward before covid hit us. I always like seeing them but if the new world reality makes that a no go we will all adjust. 🍇 + 🦍
  10. Joe Staton....I’m biased towards this artists work in general. Nice examples of both artists thank you.
  11. This is a useful yet sobering post by the OP. Ole grape remembers like yesterday watching MTV and waiting for Fire and Ice to come out on the big screen. Like yesterday. Enjoy yourself while you can cuz life goes by so fast they told me. For most of my young life I didn’t believe them. These remaining years seem precious to me. My granddaughter and my nieces and nephews are what keep me in the present. I truly appreciate all of you here. I feel connected to every one who posts. Of course some of you I made a closer connection with you know who you are guys. Enjoy the art. If you are really stressed out about letting value get away by holding to long, do what you have to do. Im going to hold. I have some great pieces in particular that I am hounded for. I guess that’s part of the fun right? Having art that others want and desire. Lets cheer up I guess is what I’m saying. Yes many of us are growing old. As Tony Sopranos mother used to say for those who dared to feel sorry for themselves, “Aw, poor you.”
  12. We don’t talk about that part of the family.
  13. I’m 53 and the last five years have brought me daunting health issues. But Mrs. Ape must have been going through my record collection and insisted I Fight Fight Fight (The Cure Album is the reference) So.....I’m digging in. I’m holding on to my best. I’m always looking but will rarely buy above low four figures now. I’ve left Mrs. Ape with helpful instructions should I expire. I won’t bore you with who I told her to contact. But I will share that I told her if she is contacted and the guy on the phone says, “let me check with my brother,” she is to hang up and rip the house phone out of the wall. She is to block any cell phone calls with an area code from Northern California. Love the art until they pry it from your cold dead hands. I think Charlton Heston said that. Although I don’t think he was referring to comic art. 🍇 + 🦍
  14. Jack Kirby was a better artist with his shirt off because it made him cooler!
  15. Yea contact Jeff Jaworski. He’s on CAF and reps Keith in commission work.
  16. Sometimes HA buyers are open to offers but it didn’t look like they had that option for this piece. I hope you find it. 🍇 + 🦍
