Yeah watch 2017 video Batman and Bill. Bob Kane had taken all the credit for Batman but after watching the documentary you’ll come away stunned.

There might be a set of his finger prints in the FBI data base. Sincerly, “The spirit of Bill Finger” P.S if you find any finger prints on Bob Kane attributed Batman pages they probably aren’t Bob Kane’s.

It’s nice to hear from all you guys in 2020. I remember hanging out at my local comic shop and monthly hearing about G I Joe this and that. I thought who the he’ll cares? My head wrapped around super hero and horror comics. I knew nothing about G I Joe other then he was an action hero action figure that guys liked to collect. I get it now and tip my cap. I love the enthusiasm with which you all are describing for this art and other examples.

I can see why it went this high. I just had 11 K as an absolute ceiling for the page before settling in on going for it. Power and dynamics 1967 Colan Yeah with limitless Bank roll a no brainer but I had to tap out also.

I agree I wanted them both. I’m thinking a few people went harder based on the last panel. That’s what influenced me but I would’ve been happy with either page now that they are gone 🤨

I thought I had a shot. two great Colan DD 27 pages featuring Spider-Man. I focused on the page 12....hammered $19,800. I didn’t have enough bid bullets. I was hoping half that.... page 11 (no slouch) went for $12,000 Encouraging sales for consignors and as mentioned a few higher priced items selling for less the second time around. 🍇 + 🦍

That’s the rub. Offered as • Sketches • unpublished drawings The scammers have more room to do the devils work. We know they are fake from collecting, studying, knowing history of Kirby. The auctioneers want us to send them something that says, for example • can’t be real because I own the real one • I know it’s fake because I saw Joe from Chicago trace that THOR drawing from a comic Kirby Museum, Evanier or Kirby Family would have expertise as would some of us board members but not sure what it would take to stop the auctions.

Haha....eBay thought occurred to me. Not going to happen. We’re on our own.

It’s a nice way of saying unless we can send them proof of fake-forgery they are helpless to take the auction down. Buyer Beware. We sell lots of things and we couldn’t possibly verify them all. Maybe that’s true. I have to ask though. Haven’t any of the “lucky” bid winners of these “Kirby” originals over the years figured out they got burned? I think it’s great Alex G demanded they take the fakes down. The tech savvy folks eventually will have to hire experts to at least audit the mass of fakes that come up for auction. We just need to keep an eye open and the heat on.

Dan was selling his own artwork on eBay. One thing I noticed is Dan was always up front about Commissioned pieces he did that were light boxed over John Buscema. Since he has passed on shamefully I’ve seen (Dan only) work passed off as Buscema and Adkins. Specifically Silver Surfer. If you PM me and I look at the piece I might be able to help you. 🍇 + 🦍
