Excellent art work I think the reaction is based on the bidding at this point. This one page could possibly hit 80-100 K. It doesn’t feature the Joker. Would you pay that if you had it? I feel I let better pages go in the past for far less $$$ and just couldn’t bring myself to pay this much for this KJ page. Anyone else remember Mike Burkey had that climactic KJ page earlier 2000’s with Batman and the Joker for $40,000 for + a year I think.I worked night and day trying to scrounge funds to make a serious offer to Mike. When that page went away I gave up hope.

It’s finally come to this Brian. Collectors want one (any) page from Killing Joke. Early 2000’s I was at a dinner party with Hari and others out in San Diego. There were two pages asking under 15K superior to this one at auction. I missed my chance. Like the Frazetta also going quite high I would pass on this KJ page at this point. There comes a certain point where the artist name sells a piece and the example doesn’t always live up to that money.

Run for the hills.

I appreciate the fact that the motivated bidder (s)has decided to get a Frazetta piece at all cost. I’ve looked at this piece over and over. I wouldn’t hide it in a portfolio if I owned it. But I am not excited for this piece. I have excepted that my opportunity to own a high quality Frazetta has come and gone. I’m not chasing something like this. To each his own.

Dang I used to have those but I can’t find them Lee. Please if anyone can locate them send them to Lee. Guy is archiving the great history of our passionate hobby.

I think that’s a fair position. He is a talented artist. I don’t know how far this is going to go concerning Cameron legally. It might be left to the court of public opinion. I wouldn’t expect any reasonable person to “unload” their art to circumvent “investment” loss. He’s an excellent artist. That’s a great piece you have. I think prudence and deliberate patience is required in these days and times. Its seems too easy today to emotionally respond quickly; Tear it down! Remove it! Blacklist! I don’t want to be led by the tail every time an allegation is brought up. Even if due process is not the right term in this situation, in my heart and mind I expect every situation where a human being is accused, be examined carefully on each side. I would not want my career to come to an end on allegations. l don’t want to take this down a rabbit hole but I just watched 3 documentaries about The West Memphis 3. It’s scary how easy it is in our society to be accused. Once you’re stained it’s hard to get it off and the consequences can be devastating.

Brian I’ve gone back and forth on the 2010 vs. today. This was professionally done in my opinion. I feel your passion for leaving the art as it was. This is a rare opportunity to see a piece of art as it was and as it is now after arts and crafts. I prefer untouched or even the suggestions you made. I imagine whoever invested in “fixing” this did so to make the art more attractive? That’s subjective I understand so,,.. what do some our friends here think? 1)Would you be ticked to buy this without realizing it was worked on? 2)Do you think it looks better now or as it was before? 3)If the sellers are aware of “restoration” should they put it in the listing description? For me 1) I would be upset to pay and later find out about “fixing” I’d like to know about any changes post original production process by artists #2 I agree with Brian the cover looked better as it was. #3even if you add stats word balloons etc I think it should be disclosed. I’m not ready to elevate what took place here to Los Bros status unless this is a repeated process by a dealer or seller. Disclosure will not hurt and can only instill confidence in an item up for purchase. Thanks Brian 🍇 🦍

A new thread might be a good idea though it’s not necessarily in anyone’s interest to show declining sales examples. (Bargain art hunters aside) My point is more about self discipline. We are our own worst enemies. If I were the new generation of collectors wandering into the market today I believe there is less room for error. In the time I mentioned and you celebrate with me 😂 you could buy almost any art page and make money next time around. It feels like return profit is priced out of most transactions for a foreseeable future. Less room for miscalculation? Take risk?

All of us, have attempted to correct our own market on fears real and imagined. If I let that piece go and it disappears into a black hole.... If I buy that piece over FMV (whatever that is) then have to sell I’ll lose money. If I sell this at X and see it selling for Y ++ a week from now I’ll figuratively harm myself. Most everything I see feels over priced that has a price tag on it. More then anytime in our brief history of OA buy and trade I’m seeing many items sell for significantly less-then the last time purchased. There is a reckless abandon I miss about OA offered eBay and elsewhere 1995-2002. Seemingly unlimited product with potential on ROI. Today the potential for mistakes that lead to real investment losses (for lack of a better word) loom ominous in my mind. Feels like a House of Cards. Collect what you love. Dealers have to make money. Putting outlandish price tags on items serve only to stagnate a fluid market and impress your friends. 🍇 🦍
