  1. Had a store that was similar (since closed, it was a "not how to run a retail business" 101 course) where they had no prices on ANY back issues (other than their 10-12 wall books that never sold as they were about 50% more than you would pay buyin off EBAY with shipping included). You would take your books up after spending an inordinate amount of time digging (there wasn't a rhyme or reason to their organization, for example, they organized Superman by just the character name, so you had Actions, Adventures of, MOS, One-Shots, minis, etc., varying from late bronze into 2023 mixed and mixed all together), bring them up to the front and then wait 15-20 minutes as they opened up their laptop (not sure what site they went to) and priced the issues. I only went there every few months when I was in the area (there is a great used book store near them) and I would also ask if they had any Silver or early Bronze age books. Always the same response everytime " Yes, but we haven't gotten around to putting them out yet." Come in a few months later, same question exact same answer. One of the last times I told my brother who was with me to ask and told him what they would say and they did😁. Horribly run shop. Hoping the other dealers in the area took all their inventory for a song.
  2. The Sandman 4 and 8 to complete my run. Picked up #1 when it came out. Didn't read it for a long while, by the time I did they were on issue 10 so I started picking up monthly from then on. Was able to get 9 from the LCS the same month and picked up the collected edition of 1-8 when it came out.. Never bothered to complete the series until now ( picked up the other missing issues over the last few months) but happy I did. The Turtles is just for fun.
  3. Congrats to almost making it to a century. Hope I live that long.👍
  4. Started buying Superman Adventures when it came out in 1996 after reading the main Superman lines since just before Byrne took over. Some great stories that were very SA in their execution as being self-contained and weren't interconnected like the Super books at the time. Here are my 3 favorite covers, they're not the keys but I really like them for their style and I'm a big Alex Ross fan. (Pics are a bit shiny as the lighting was Spoon). What are your favorites from your personal series you bought off the rack and still own?
  5. Aww. That sucks. I try to get them up here as quickly as I can as Ebay coupons have become a scarce commodity in recent years.
  6. Just used it. Might only be for Canadians. FANEXPO23
  7. https://comicbook.com/comics/news/kevin-smith-auctioning-off-his-entire-comic-book-art-collection-including-frank-miller-matt-wagner/ Interesting. Probably too rich for my blood.

  9. Agree. Now it just comes down to money really. You can basically type any issue into the Ebay search engine and you'll get a minimum of 10 hits back. That kinda takes the thrill away of a find in the real world. Like the T-rex and the Goat.
  10. I've certainly changed my habits after collecting for over 35+ years now. I used to be a strictly LCS guy, if they didn't have it, I didn't get it. As I got older and had more freedom of mobility, I started to venture to Cons and further afield LCS to find books. I didn't buy my first book online until 2019. Then it was almost a strictly online purchasing for about a year or 2 and now I find myself dropping the online and going back to the LCS and Cons as I get more satisfaction from I guess putting in the work to track down a book than putting a search term into Google. How about you guys and gals?
  11. Finally have all the first issues of Kirbys DC run...
  12. Make sure to bump the thread if you use it, so it can stay at the top for today...
  13. Sorry, if it didn't work for you guys. I read the terms and services blurb that was sent with it and it didn't say it was exclusive to me.
  14. Code is COMICSRULE. Reply to thread so we can keep it at the top. Cheers and Enjoy
  15. Yes. But their grading when buying is always strict but surprisingly soft when selling.😁
  16. Forum members seem to use many methods. Some use Ebay sold references, GPA, Go Collect, Covrprice, Overstreet, etc. One dealer in my area prices and buys using Overstreet, another goes by GPA and takes off 10% if you're buying or selling Raw. Ultimately, unless we are selling off our collection ourselves, we are going to be selling to a dealer so I'm curious to what the majority of Dealers use so I can better evaluate what I have for when my collection is pried from my cold dead hands.😁 Any anecdotes or experiences welcome.
  17. Good Video of the event. More Toy centric than comic but does show most of the Comic Vendors. https://youtu.be/w6xENacA9V0
  18. https://www.abc57.com/news/police Pretty sad news. Hopefully they catch them from the surveillance footage.
