  1. and with that excellent post by @Kripsys99, 'tis time to...
  2. Both were Pub Domain (1962 for Drac) - at least the 19th century literature works all were. In 2027 even the Classic 1931 Universal interpretations will be as well.
  3. Hiring as cheap as possible pads the bonus of many an Exec. As with most things you get what you pay for...
  4. You think this bad for Joey and other pro's...Well I have several friends I grew up with that are Medical Dr's. All possess multiple board accreditation and 20+ years experience. Each of them has told me that patients come in after using google or reddit for 5 minutes outright stating they know as much or more than them and then proceed to dictate what the Dr's need to do. They told me it's more prevalent in the 40 and under demo...
  5. Yep on Conan. Kull, Doc Savage and others came next. Also Tarzan and or John Carter may slightly pre-date zilla.
  6. On 1982 super high population 9.8 book I'd figure 20% less. On older low pop books I feel it's significantly less of a factor if at all at the lowest pops With 1981 newer comics my opinion is it makes the largest difference unless it's super low census & condition sensitive stuff like DC Digest's which apparently there is only 1 buyer for anyhow
  7. Why so afraid to take it out the bag? Not sure where you got your info about the book's value but it could not be more wrong.
  8. Seems like the first 2 are where CGC made the error
  9. Yes. But less common to the extent they might be considered outliers?
  10. Same is done in Comics where it is significantly less effective. Where they the same 1d10T's who were purchasing Monkey head and torso NFT's ? IMO good riddance to the Rich Boy's who jumped on any hobby bandwagon during the pandemic.
  11. As equally divided an issue as any political hot-button item. Many of those against will also give up on the registry count me as one for sure. BTW: This is the type of suggestion that is only made by one who will benefit from it being enacted.
  12. All sure signs of a true deee bahg. During the pandemic they fancied themselves genius' so they will simply wait for the next bubble. 'cept given the age, lifestyle and diet of most of those type sellers they ain't going to live long enough to see it...
  13. fair enough but the full context you just provided had not been supplied prior to my last response. Please LMK when Dino Flintstone from Charlton is "hot". He's not a dog but close enough Actually he acts more like a dog than Scooby or Shoeshine Boy (u-dog)
  14. NO Way too many cases of page quality bumps from review re-submits and signatures. But yeah some pay more for White Pages, to others W vs OW/W is laughable given wildly random page quality de jour assignments for books. What about the very early slabs in which Page Quality notation was yet not standard? I'm also against assigning more points for newsstands as for 20+ years they were not noted nor data recorded
  15. Low supply, cult following. Supply needs to at least semi-steady to be considered "hot" on eBay
  16. Tarzan - character is public domain. Most of the stories/books are as well. However some of the later books/stories are not yet. Thus adaptions of those require an arrangement with the ERB estate
  17. In January 2023, the world's greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, fully entered the public domain. Thanks to the expiration of the copyright on The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, the iconic detective of 221B Baker St. joined Dracula, Tarzan and Peter Pan as public property.
  18. Superman inspired the Super-Hero genre. The character has been copied six ways to Sunday for the last 9 Decades! Public domain is Important and Needed for the betterment of all Mankind.
  19. Is the consignee the "alleged" scammer/thief/crook/swindler/fraudster or one of their proxies? @COMICLINK
  20. I thought limiting Mech Error returns to the original submitter and only for 14 days solved the rings problem? Are you saying it didn't ?
  21. Yep, Lack of true competition is never a good thing! Well folks it had to happen eventually, the first post NewWorldOrder post in this thread I agree with!
  22. Stuff like Disney was supposed to have entered the public domain decades ago... Public domain is Important and Needed for the betterment of all Mankind. P.S. Public Domain will be a NON-factor in "value" of old comics. The largest factor in that will be loss of collectors via attrition. The hobby will continue to hemorrhage collectors compared to the tiny shrinking trickle of new collectors. Eventually the Comic Hobby will become like the Stamp Hobby (once the largest hobby in the world) it's inevitable.
  23. Thanks Ted! I did not realize the historical Comic significance. So much for my being a DC expert :). Now with correct context the hammer price does not seem out of line. Perhaps the new owner will splurge for stats that do not appear to have been created by a small child using a 1990 era fax machine ?
