  1. Superman inspired the Super-Hero genre. The character has been copied six ways to Sunday for the last 9 Decades! Public domain is Important and Needed for the betterment of all Mankind.
  2. Is the consignee the "alleged" scammer/thief/crook/swindler/fraudster or one of their proxies? @COMICLINK
  3. I thought limiting Mech Error returns to the original submitter and only for 14 days solved the rings problem? Are you saying it didn't ?
  4. Yep, Lack of true competition is never a good thing! Well folks it had to happen eventually, the first post NewWorldOrder post in this thread I agree with!
  5. Stuff like Disney was supposed to have entered the public domain decades ago... Public domain is Important and Needed for the betterment of all Mankind. P.S. Public Domain will be a NON-factor in "value" of old comics. The largest factor in that will be loss of collectors via attrition. The hobby will continue to hemorrhage collectors compared to the tiny shrinking trickle of new collectors. Eventually the Comic Hobby will become like the Stamp Hobby (once the largest hobby in the world) it's inevitable.
  6. Thanks Ted! I did not realize the historical Comic significance. So much for my being a DC expert :). Now with correct context the hammer price does not seem out of line. Perhaps the new owner will splurge for stats that do not appear to have been created by a small child using a 1990 era fax machine ?
  7. I have 2 guesses on who that dealer is...
  8. I've been in hobby since 1999, 1970s Marvel Godzilla pages always commanding high coin. Perhaps prior to 2002 some lesser Marvel pages with Godzilla were hovering around $100 but so too were a fair amount of 70s Marvel panel non-A list titles and non-A list artist pages If your comment was not in regards to 1970s Marvel Godzilla pages but for Dark Horse or other publishers then it makes sense.
  9. Just have the original artist staple an acetate to the cover, then on the standard S1798 crossout Machine Gun and write in your choice of Pizza Oven or 10.0
  10. Same here. Also no more 13oz limit, 70lbs is max. Time for me is about the same receiving items however that might be attributed to my living under 10 miles from one of the USPS' Largest Hubs.
  11. CGC having the slab back in the first place would poison the chain. Especially as they have the requisite equipment and ability to do anything they like with the slabs I think the only way the slabs would be admissible in court is if an entity like the FBI had collected the suspect slabs. @ThothAmon , curious on your interpretation. Of course 0 chance this gets to a courtroom, Blackstone will do anything in their fiscal power to avoid being subject to a discovery process.
  12. As my multi-year self-imposed zero tolerance ban on youtube "influencer" videos continues, I did not watch , but based on comments in this thread, it appears the Interview with Matt Nelson was not a case of the above quote?
  13. 40K for that??? There was a saying years ago from some collectors about being Crazy but not Stupid appears the latter no longer applies Looks like a cheap fake stat job as well.
  14. Sadly djpinkpanther67 passed April 2023. He is missed!
  15. I'm sure Blackstone will do whatever is the least expensive. Possibly not even that now as this thread has fizzled and Social Media has moved on.
  16. The missing pieces/chunk on the back look more than production related. The top back left for instance may have had a "hanger" than was torn off at some later point. My feeling is the book is 7.0 due to the missing pieces although from the front it presents in high grade.
  17. 4.0 / 4.5 (even with a good C&P) Keep it Raw! Compared to 2 years ago 9.4 and below are in free-fall and the 194 9.8's are being hit by the ongoing scandal.
  18. makes it easier for scammers present and future?
  19. When can we expect a totally redesigned holder from CGC? My guess is a minimum of 1 day after never. Where never = as long as Blackstone is the parent company
  20. Larger the bubble, the larger the burst. Expect ramifications to continue into the next decade. How long it lasts thereafter depends on amount of attrition that ultimately occurs.
