  1. As I said a few pages back Pop Culture Film Franchises collide! Great Book Godzilla + Avengers cover, Godzilla + Fantastic Four page 1 splash, most of the interior pages feature some combination of Godzilla + Avengers, FF, SHIELD. Simply one of my favorite all-time comics books. P.S. Was that only a tracking bid on your part? BTW Comic link really needs to get a website and system that is from this century!
  2. At one time I would have agreed with these books but the current state of affairs be it a high grade Amazing Fantasy 15 or the latest Money Shot (fun book BTW) are simply no longer handled carefully. A recent AF15 was noted recently on this forum to have plastic shards inside the case. If a high profile book like that is not treated properly without proper (or any) quality control then seems "Just give us your money and shut up" represents current day sentiment.
  3. I think the cut-off from CGC is 1985 or 1986 - arbitrary if you ask me.
  4. I do like them when the Editor and creative teams know in advance. That way loose ends are tied up. She-Hulk 25 is one of my favorite last issues, the corner box is "classic"
  5. #312 and #328 are just as "Classic" to me as #300 (#301 was the next months IMHO lazy homage to #300) or #316.
  6. The Story in Pizzazz 1 is 3 pgs and continues for many months. Star Wars 7 is the then Marvel standard of 17 pages. Star Wars 7 follows Han and Chewie's adventures immediately after events of 1st Movie. Pizzazz 1 follows Luke,Leih,R2D,C3PO adventures immediately after events of 1st Movie. Pizzazz 1 was on-sale 4 months before Star Wars 7. Both were written by Thomas and penciled by Chaykin
  7. As non-1st issue, non Star Wars, non Thundercats Star Comics go Census population is normal possibly even slightly higher than normal. Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. Grade 10 9.9 9.8 9.6 9.4 9.2 9.0 8.5 8.0 7.5 7.0 6.5 6.0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.8 1.5 1.0 0.5 1. Heathcliff 12 (11/86, Marvel Comics) Universal 15 9.06 4 3 3 1 1 1 1 1 Why oh Why is Hugga Bunch not at the Heathcliff level . I've sold maybe 12-15 comics in total over the last 25 years but I'd definitely take that kind of cash for Hugga 6 (last issue and only graded copy)
  8. Was able to get one recently .Now I can once again make claim I have the first extended universe appearance Issue includes a KISS article and pics as well! Also some Big John/Chan Tarzan
  9. Pizzazz #1 is first actual Extended Universe story. Star Wars 7 is wrongly attributed by CGC #7 is my personal favorite Star Wars cover. As for SW8 the 9.8 pop is lower than the books around it and appears a bit more difficult to score a 9.8 than issue 7 and 9 . Still very odd to me that it's so in demand, perhaps some talking head hyped it on some youtub channel? Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. 10. Been using CGCdata for over a decade, can't thank you enough! Only copy on census, usually a reason for that. With Copper or Modern it's almost always due to low interest coupled with low value. IMHO unless there is a personal connection why pay $22-$35+shipping fees to slab a book that is worth $50-75? That said I've sent in at least few "worthless" books due to some personal reason and at least 1 is my signature.
  11. Too few copies means no way for the Flipper's, Market manipulator's, YouTube talking heads, to make bank. So of course they don't like it. They b needin' high Pop stuff stuff like ASM361,Nova1,Star Wars 42, WWBN32,Spawn 1,UF1,etc to gets them Benjie's flowin' in.
  12. Those are NON Marvel books with Marvel Character Covers. How about the reverse of sorts; examples of the only graded copies of Marvel books with NON Marvel Character Covers I think more times than not if a Copper has only a single copy on census its due to lack of interest NOT lack of supply. In the case of the 2 books of mine above zero interest certainly applies
  13. Selling or Not Selling Comics is neither Good or Bad. Some do not sell due to not needing to so financially, others do not as they are true collectors. As long as it does not cross over to hording all is well. Selling comics regularly, for at least some (perhaps most), creates an inherent bias even if not always a conscious one. That type of Bias is the type that at least for some permeates every facet of their thought process. There are also those who sell only on irregular or on "rare" occasions. These folks usually are the most well rounded offering the opinions that on on average are more valuable to both of the above. Then you have flippers for them I've nothing positive to say (sheesh it's a joke don't be gettin' yer panties inna bunch)
  14. Yes all copies of Shade are newsstands. Shade was on sale 1977-1978 way before DC had direct editions. DC First Differentiated between Newsstand and Direct with books cover dated October 1980.
  15. Flippers be lovin' a fuzzy (no dates or estimates) announcement to maximize interest... Probably be 2-3 years before anything appears. Flippers probably salivating right now. Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. Grade 10 9.9 9.8 9.6 9.4 9.2 9.0 8.5 8.0 7.5 7.0 6.5 6.0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.8 1.5 1.0 0.5 Nova 1 (9/76, Marvel Comics) Origin & 1st appearance of Nova (Richard Rider). 1st appearance of Ginger Jaye. 16. Perhaps the press helps a bit from a presentation perspective but have doubts it will increase the grade. I agree with 3.5/4.0
  17. Is this real of some Market Manipulation? I recall one sold on eBay in Sept 2021 for about $100: As Non Key Modern DC issues go the 9.8 and 9.6 population seem average. Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. Grade 10 9.9 9.8 9.6 9.4 9.2 9.0 8.5 8.0 7.5 7.0 6.5 6.0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.8 1.5 1.0 0.5 Sandman 21 (12/90, D.C./Vertigo Comics) "Predator 2" poster included. Universal 57 9.44 28 14 5 6 1 1 1 1 Opinions folks?
  18. The preponderance of double page spread in modern book can be a bit annoying, although i have come up with my own solutions for that. Also finding a reader and bending it's options towards what one feels comfortable with can be a challenge. I have found what works fast and easy for me and have used it for some many years it's second nature. i also do not make the mistake of upgrading it before testing new version out on my non main device first. For me is so easy to open my viewer pick any book or comic I choose to read from my NAS and read it on demand that I never want to go back to any past method. As for me I do not sell comics. Well almost I've sold a total of around 12 books in the last 20 years. I do submit comics 120 last year but normally 20-25 per year. Most I've sent are from the years 1984-1990 and are a bit odd-ball (some are in my signature). Apparently for me getting a book back in 9.8 that I purchased raw as a child or teen releases a few endorphins
  19. It's 2022, as same with "real" books, there are many legit and some gray area ways to read/view a Comic book other than having it in hand. Although for Creepy and Eerie I'm not sure if every issue is available. I've not read a physical comic book since I got my first tablet 12 years ago. I vastly prefer my books, mags and comics on a tablet (or Chromebook) as I can manipulate page size exactly to the needs of my physical vision. Apologies. folks but the idea of having to have an actual comic in hand to read it is so last century. Times change and for me being able to use a tablet or similar device to easily read anything I want is priceless. P.S. My main reading tablet has 12.2 inch screen which is pretty much exactly the size of a 1980's comic. My Chromebook screen is larger, but it's weighs so little its not a factor. Better living through technology!
  20. IMHO worst case is they suffer additional damage due to handling. Seems to me on most of these the risk not worth the potential reward.
  21. u tubbers only want 1st appearences, first issues and an occasional 1st cover appearences. So on USA issued Dredd its num 1s only. There will be no coattail riding from them almost never is... Groo; Marvel Age 24 predates the first Marvel Groo. Its great cover as well. However census pop is so low it could be months or years until another 9.8 shows up for sale. Apparently a high cencus pop is a near must have to be a hot book.....
