  1. The mid/late 80's Honeymooners interest resurgence was my first exposure to the Classic TV show as a kid. Around that time these books appeared at my LCS. The Lodestone is my childhood copy.
  2. This one may have been on-sale in 1971 but it "cries" late 1960's as it reprinted the 2nd issue from 1969. My dad, rest his soul, was Squad fan. I became a DVD-based fan of the show.
  3. Here's a Modern. While in my LCS back in 2001 I joked with my buddy (the shop owner) that I would pick up a copy of the book and have it graded. He "dared" me. Well I found a copy that met my standards and never bother to send it in until 21 years later. While his shop closed for business a few years back we still get together for grub every now and then. I showed him the graded copy recently and he had no recollection of the "dare" it's 1/1 on the census like due to no one else is at my level of stupidity to submit one in the first place. Regardless I like the cover! I'd love it if not for what Goldwater and Archie put poor Dan and Josie DeCarlo through over the Film. Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. 4. Thought about putting this in Silver and in Copper but have settled in the middle. Show off your Photo Cover Comics! Partial Photo Covers too! Magazines OK if they are listed in Overstreet. No Rifleman! I'm sure some may understand why ==================================================== Had this one in the 80's and loved the cover. Weird how the top portion background blue and the rest green. It would look so much niceer if all the same green. All copies I've seen are like this. My feeling is it was not the the intention.
  5. I purchased these books as child or kid when originally on-sale, held on to them in 4 different decades and submitted (and received back) to CGC in 2021. Having my exact childhood copies in the slabs to me are priceless. I'm an extremely strict grader and these are all very strong 9.8's, none were pressed.. Thought I had a shot at a 9.9 on some of them.
  6. DC Comics Presents 85 (1985) "The Jungle Line" is in my top 3 of all time favorite standalone stories. Also my favorite Superman Story and standalone Alan Moore Story. Glad I was able to obtain pages of art from the story back in the days when they cost less than a years rent.
  7. I too would not take a chance. The risk on a 9.9 is far too realistic as bottom line obsessed Blackstone does not believe in QC Meguiars PlastX along with a soft cloth (as shown in pic) and some arm effort will remove many light to near medium scratches and light to medium scuffs.
  8. Love Trimpe's artwork on the Monster, the humans not so much. The 'zilla OCA splash pages present very nice.
  9. I do agree in the COVID19 Era issues you mentioned are the reality. Still Heritage has been like this since at least 2004 from my very first dealing with them. Until approx 10 years ago I regularly "won" Heritage auctions, mostly art and comics, and it was unusual when I did not have to call up 2-3 weeks later and ask when my item would be shipped. Back around 2007 a very nice rep I spoke to there told me calling was best way to move things along as their shipping and receiving staff was small and recommended I call 2 days after payment. This is why I say they are cheap, now since 2020 there are external reasons as well, they must love having that as an excuse to offer P.S. Look JJJ11 i made a post without referring to a specific ASM comic
  10. Appears Heritage shipping dept not only lacks staff but perhaps their system is less than modern. Based on this and the comic book threads some items go out in 2 weeks some are 1-2 months. BTW even 2 weeks to initiate shipping is too much and indicative of a firm being too cheap to hire the a proper compliment of workers.
  11. If i knew this previously enjoyable thread was going to take such a dark turn I never would have followed it. BTW: I would have taken secret option #3 which would have been soaking it a container of water for 6 hours then let it dry then ship it to me.
  12. Some of those 9.8 present in this thread agreed are very week and probably not even 9.6'. Yet my almost flawless 4th print only got 9.6. As some here know I'm a very harsh grader. Perhaps too many 9.8's were given out in my submission (39/40). 2 of which I did feel at very best were borderline 9.4/9.6's BTW anyone have an idea what month this book was first on-sale, been unable to find any info and too far back in my childhood memories to recall.
  13. Got greggy's seal o'approval on that post , makes it all worthwhile
  14. That does explain that sale. Kind of distracting to my eyes, but those type of collectors over such stuff can be rabid I don't see it noted at https://recalledcomics.com. I'm curious if the black ink smudges in the corner box/piece go hand in hand with what may be a simple printing defect. I now leave you folks to run and inspect your copies for what may be yellow striped gold.
  15. There are CGC 9.4 WP copies sitting on eBay for $1200BIN. Also a newsstand 9.4WP at $1200 with no bidders, where is your sales data coming from and where are these sales taking place?
  16. learned from Greggy IMHO the confused reaction should be eliminated as a choice.
  17. Am I not permitted to offer a counter-point or opposite opinion from the hyperbole presented in this thread? Others post sales hype over and over in this thread, am I not permitted to mention price drops? I did error earlier on and post similar 194 comments in other threads, I will keep them here where they belong.
  18. Never said a drop from month ago implies the bottom has fallen out Every descent from highs begins somewhere (almost always with non high grades) the only way to know for sure if that has occurred is to view the data from a future date.
  19. Agree their hot/cold lists are based on number of sales
  20. Are you saying all copies have an image of some dude holding a cell phone Yeah it's not a 9.8, 'cept it is. It does suck! Mistakes happen when humans are involved in any process.
