  1. Sure there have been outliers and always will be, but speculating on Copper and Modern DC Superhero books is proven to be a highly efficient way of losing money.
  2. yep that's a guide! not the less desirable separations.
  3. https://www.cbr.com/superman-james-gunn-hawkgirl-identity/ Even with that announcement, "JSA Secret Files and Origins 1" (1st Kendra Saunders) remains ICE Cold and Unsold on eBay
  4. When you have the chance, a few pics will make it easy. Separations have very low demand in comparison to guides and go for a fraction of the estimated prices provided in this thread by others.
  5. Color Guides or Color Separations? Reason I ask is most dealers use the same term purposely and wrongly for the seperations. Some collectors also use the term wrongly but in their case without malice, merely assuming term is catch all..
  6. Now if they had had that in 2003 or 2004 they might have remained relevant another 10 years?
  7. IMHO go for the pre 1960 issues as on some of them the chance may not come again for a decade.
  8. Axe: If I speak the same dialect of autocorrect, I believe the accurate translation is "silver age." Whoever invented autocorrect should burn in hello. Edited April 14 by Axe Elf You brightened the halls of this forum, Axe. You are surely missed Very sad , and yes I agree with him about auto correct. May he rest in peace

  10. yeah but for most it's true and more times than not, sound honest advice. Unless of course their interest is modern sketches or post 1990 C or lower list titles drawn by C or lower list artists - assuming mainstream hero art On the whole those interested in truly collecting 80's and earlier hero art either need to be approaching wealthy or have got into the hobby at least 8-10 years back.
  11. Agreed. However there are no boundaries Comic Book and Trading Card Dealers and sellers won't cross.
  12. I've been collecting DC Silver for over 30 years and never heard of it either. It's plausible I guess?
  13. Years back i would have totally agreed however I don't see 1950's or 1960's DC and Marvel Hero art dropping in price so not sure if it will happen with 70's and 80's anytime in the mid-term or longer...
  14. Thanks for posting the pic for those of us that missed it Also refreshingly and genuinely glad to see your not one of those "wrap must be totally perfect" folks!
  15. 1/2 splash or 2/3 splash for example are OK terms. "Splashy" is a pure cringe term used by the same type of total used car salesman loser that says "Minty", "Minty Fresh" or "Gemmy" to describe condition of a raw Comic Book, Trading Card or Vinyl Record. It's best to avoid at all costs doing business with anyone who uses those terms.
  16. You removed my disclaimer in your quoting; "warning broad generalization below"
  17. warning broad generalization below. For Published pre 1990 Marvel and certain DC; It was never a hobby for the "poor", but now it's a hobby only for the "wealthy" Yeah folks when you have $2500 a pop to spend not using credit on Spidey Super Story panel pages you are wealthy in relation to the USA median income.
