  1. Thanks! Great series right to the end! I now recall it was difficult back then for me to find 51 and higher in the condition i sought (now called CGC9.8) due to my LCS ordering the minimum amount of pieces. I had to go to multiple shops on release days in search of them. The hunt way back then did pay off, my recently submitted 54 just came back to me. back cover presents a true challenge on 54
  2. Out of yellow seems like correct answer
  3. 1996 raw purchase returned slabbed this week. Back then these ran $10, which was way down from the $50+ they commanded raw at start of the same decade.
  4. Has the book frozen over? Reason is whenever I submit my original owner raw, the value plummets immediately when I receive it back There were many great issues in the 90's Spectre run, #54 is my favorite. It provides much needed JLA 171-172 closure for the JSA and us fans.
  5. Back home from CGC this week; a 1997 $1 purchase from then my go to local show dealer Rino. Outstanding Kirby/Sinnott Fantastic Four vs Invaders 1976 Cover w/John Buscema interiors, not bad for a buck
  6. Self-Submitted 1999 raw purchase . Nice Kane/Milgrom cover
  7. I use their PSA and other trading card slab sleeves. They perfectly fit like a glove, which can be excellent or not great as one must be careful when inserting and removing
  8. To me the phrase "too expensive for its own good applies"
  9. References to a once or current owned Action #1 are never derailing
  10. I do agree with your point, but not as it applies to Joker #1. I may be wrong but Joker #1 represents the 1st Marvel or DC ongoing solo title where a Villain (pure Villain not an Anti-Hero) is the protagonist. Not to mention a now semi-classic cover with every pre-1980 A-Level Batman Villain on it. Add Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man #1 to the list.
  11. Regardless of their Nationality, Comic Book Dealers are about as a dishonest lot as can be. However they are still a half-notch above Trading Card Dealers, and a notch above Comic Original Art Dealers.
  12. lot of bids but really only 2 bidders after it hit $66. IMHO that's cause for pause.
  13. I had a 9.6 self-submitted #1 in oldest slab. I'm a very strict grader and felt it was 9.8. I cracked it out way back in 2002. Fast forward to 2022. I had pressed and re-submitted and a 9.6 again. I still do not see why but I accept it. Wish I still had in the original slab. Based on hearsay and talk with others about 1/2 the time an old school pre July 2003 slab will get a bump up in grade as well as page quality. Me personally I'd rather have the old-school slab/label.
  14. I've seen books with similar looking spot get 9.8's in past. I do wonder if it's consider a printing/manufacturing defect or if a stain simply missed by the graders.
