This is a really, really tough question. if you want to keep the book, then I’d say keep it raw. If you want to sell, I think you’d get more if you slabbed it with the other fellas

Hey, all you Sal Buscema fans! The Sal-tacular cover to DD Annual #2 has been posted, featuring a nice, large image of DD fighting Bird-Man and Cat-Man in an all out effort to save a damsel in distress. Although the pic of the OA isn't yet available, here's an image of the published cover to gush, guffaw, and drool over until the OA pic is uploaded. What say you about an auction estimate? $75K?

I agree 100% with the quoted statement above. I felt ripped off after flipping through this years' special 50th anniversary crapola of a guide and I won't be purchasing another one.

Where did you look? There are no blue label asm 300’s in 9.8 available on eBay today... none! There used to be sooooo many copies available daily, but today, there’s only 2 or 3 yellow label 9.8’s, with the cheapest being $5,880.

The majority of these books were/are available in the $1/$2/$3 bins since they were published, with only a handful of exceptions noted in this thread. are you saying that you actively pursued this set for 30 years? Seems like a long time to put together such an easy to find, low-cost set

The Brunner Dr. Strange #30 cover featuring Doc and Clea has been added to the auction, although the image is not yet available. I’ve included a pic of the published cover for us to chat about. I’ve also included a pic of the Production to compare the colour version against the b&w. given the Aug 1978 cover date, this may have been Brunner’s last work at Marvel (aside from a Savage Sword of Conan story?) before he left for good because he "felt the romance with comics was over".

It's been a while since we chatted about updated numbers on blue (universal) direct 9.4's so I thought I'd check back on GPA and see what's going on, or should I say, up? It should come as no surprise that sales on 9.4's continue to benefit from the recent escalations on 9.6's and 9.8's, and they are becoming a bit pricey for the average collector, hence more collectors are flocking to the next highest grade they can afford, which is a 9.4. In March, a 9.4 with white pages would have set you back approximately $425, +/- $10. The past five sales are as follows: Sep 21 = 749 Sep 21 = 643 Sep 15 = 800 Sep 15 = 683 (newsstand) Sep 15 = 675 Sep 13 = 675 Sep 13 = 725 Sep 11 = 700 Sep 8 = 795

Regarding the 268 cover, I was certainly aware of it following its publication. It was a wall book at every comic shop and dealers booth at conventions for years, and although I had stopped reading Xmen long before (Xmen 180 or thereabouts), I know this issue carries a substantial nostalgia factor. I'm not going to guess what this cover will sell for, but having taken a recent look at Jim's covers, there are several I would personally want to own over the 268 cover:
