  1. Wow! Some major pre-auction price jumps on the McWolverine Splash, Byrne Action cover, and Perez FF page
  2. Off the top of my head, Saviuk's output on Spidey titles falls well short of Sal Buscema, Mark Bagley and Jim Mooney.
  3. I know, right? The Perez Marvel Tales 261 cover is at $3.6K and looks stoopid cheap in comparison. Spiderman vs Hobgoblin. I used to own that cover and it is very nice.
  4. Whoa! The Perez Infinity Gauntlet page is already at $8.2K, and the other Perez listing are starting to heat up, too. Starlin stuff still seems cheap, for the moment. the Saviuk Web of Spidey cover is at $9.5K. WTF!!!
  5. So, getting back to the actual auction, has anyone else noticed the Byrne Avengers pages at $8K and $15.25k ?!
  6. Yes, it does matter when the auction ends, and there's several reasons why that's important, but someone more articulate should explain.
  7. Moreso for folks on the East Coast, some of these auctions end fairly late, and often beyond 11:30 so having the auctions on Thurs nite was better because you could show up for for a bit weary-eyed Friday morning and that was OK since nobody is as productive on Friday as they are earlier in the week.
  8. I completely agree that Tuesday is not a good day to wrap up an auction and I hope they revert back to Thursdays going forward.
  9. Well, looks like the JLA cover had another nice jump in price and is now at $37K+
  10. There are plenty of other pieces in this auction without a reserve price that are still very, very cheap currently. Bids will start coming Monday before the craziness begins on auction day, Tuesday
  11. Less than a week to go in the auction and things are starting to get interesting. Wondering if someone more on the ball can provide opinions on the following pieces: The Adams JLA 92 cover recently experienced a nice hike and now commands over $25K. Does this have a lot more room upwards or is this near the top? Byrne Action Comics 593 cover is at $7.8K. Will the cover settle north or $15K? North of $20K? Thoughts?
  12. Thanks! Do you recall if there was more than two Cockrum pages at this auction? I seem to recall 4 or 5 pages, and they all went for a healthy amount?
  13. Hi, all Not too long ago, comicconnect had several pages at auction from Uncanny X-Men 150 and if I recall, the auction results were rather healthy. Does anyone have a record of the prices for each of the pages? If not, is there any way to search comicconnect for previous auction results? Thanks, -Yoram
  14. Yeah, makes the DPS at the last Clink auction look like a steal
  15. Different strokes for different folks. I am not a fan of Kirby art, the FF, Andy Kubert art or Gambit. I stopped collecting Uncanny at issue #180 when I thought there was too many Mutants running around to keep track of. having said all of the above, and all things being equal, I would take the FF cover over the XMen cover without hesitation. I would even do so , again without hesitation, if someone offered the xmen cover + $75K in exchange for the Kirby FF. quite frankly, I don't think Gambit is as big a deal as a few vocal folks are making him out to be.
  16. Has anyone else received this message on Heritage's login page this morning? Third Party Authentication (Yahoo!) is currently unavailable. For bidding, please use your Heritage username and password or contact us at Bid@HA.com or call 800-872-6467 ext 1150. We are working to resolve the issue and apologize for any inconvenience.
  17. Hmm... looks like the Kane Man-Thing cover has been withdrawn from auction.
  18. Just a few days before live bidding and some prices are finally starting to swing upwards, but truth be told, it was a bit of a challenge to find these five examples as most lots in this auction have seen very little movement and are still dirt cheap. Definitely the quietest HA auction I've seen in a long time that's so close to live bidding : Dillon Preacher #3p17 = $5.5K https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/steve-dillon-preacher-3-story-page-17-saint-of-killers-and-cassidy-original-art-dc-vertigo-1995-/a/7166-92084.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Heck/Wood Avengers #21p7 = $2.1K https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/don-heck-and-wally-wood-avengers-21-story-page-7-original-art-marvel-1965-/a/7166-92113.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Pope Batman Year 100 #3 front/back cover = $5.5K https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/paul-pope-batman-year-100-3-front-and-back-cover-original-art-group-of-2-dc-2006-total-2-original-art-/a/7166-92198.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Trimpe Spec Spidey 97p1 splash = $800 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/herb-trimpe-and-jim-mooney-spectacular-spider-man-97-splash-page-1-original-art-marvel-1984-/a/7166-92237.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Ditko/Byrne Avengers Ann 13p14 = $1.2K https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/steve-ditko-and-john-byrne-avengers-annual-13-story-page-14-she-hulk-original-art-marvel-1984-/a/7166-93255.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
  19. Just about a week to go before Live Bidding begins next Friday and it appears to be the most quiet auction I've see price-wise in some time. Sure, bidders will soon take another look at their tracked items, whittle down their 'must have' list for this auction and prices will start to increase ever so slowly, but I think these are just some of the pieces that have a looooong way to go before hitting FMV. I should note that I don't keep track of art by Kirby, Herriman, Schulz, Raymond, Frazetta, and Crumb so feel free to chime in with your own observations. Here we go: Bill Everett Submariner #51 page featuring Subby vs Byrrah with excellent underwater effects. I have to admit that as much as I like John Buscema Subby pages, this one by Everett is really, really nice and currently sits at only $1.1K. Definitely lots of room upwards for this one: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/bill-everett-sub-mariner-51-story-page-16-original-art-marvel-1972-/a/7166-92017.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 NIck Cardy Brave and the Bold 104 cover featuring Batman and Deadman. As always, very nice composition from Mr. Cardy and I stongly suspect the final hammer price will see multiples of the current $2.8K https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/nick-cardy-brave-and-the-bold-104-cover-batman-and-deadman-original-art-dc-1972-/a/7166-92071.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Dillon World's Finest 232 complete 18 page story with great Batman and Superman content currently at a miserly $900, thereby averaging $50 a page, including the splash. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/-dillin-and-john-calnan-world-s-finest-232-complete-18-page-story-batman-and-superman-original-art-dc-1975-total-18-original-art-/a/7166-92083.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Steve Ditko and Wally Wood The Stalker #1 cover. OK, admittedly, I picked this up in the quarter bin back at my local comic store because I reasoned the price was right and I had nothing to loose for 25 cents. I thought it was pretty neat to team up two ground breaking artists on a title and I was curious about this particular art pairing, even knowing this wasn't produced with either man at the top of the artistic peak, but I liked it, and I'm certain there are many others reading this who derived a bit of guilty please from this cheap purchase at 25 cents or 50 cents or what have you. Its currently at $3.6K, but I think it will end significantly more than that next week: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/steve-ditko-and-wally-wood-stalker-1-cover-original-art-dc-1975-/a/7166-92086.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Don Heck and Wally Wood Avengers 21 pages. OK, I'm the first to admit I'm not a fan of Don Heck's work, but I simply couldn't skim over the gorgeous top-notch Wally Wood inks on these pages. The Enchantress especially looks wonderful: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/don-heck-and-wally-wood-avengers-21-story-page-12-captain-america-and-hawkeye-original-art-marvel-1965-/a/7166-92114.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Gil Kane Man-Thing 17 cover has a really nice, large image of our hero, with great Tom Palmer inks. Currently at $2.5K, but I'd be very surprised if it doesn't end North of $10K. What do you think? https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/gil-kane-and-tom-palmer-man-thing-17-cover-original-art-marvel-1975-/a/7166-92133.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Fred Ray Superman 17 cover. Very charming and patriotic cover with Superman front and centre, with some repairs/resto, but still quite cheap at $29K: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/fred-ray-superman-12-cover-original-art-dc-1941-/a/7166-92204.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Jill Thompson Sandman #45 page with Sandman and Ishtar, the stripper (actually, she's a goddess). I know I mentioned this one before but its got all kinds of cool factor stuff going for it and its currently at $1.4K, which is a small fraction of the final hammer price. Here's the link: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/jill-thompson-and-vince-locke-sandman-v2-45-story-page-19-original-art-dc-vertigo-1993-/a/7166-92235.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
  20. See, when I think of Digital Age, I think of the first comic produced by computer called "Shatter", published sometime in the mid to late '80's.
  21. Just saw the new-ish Thor trailer featuring what appears to be World War Hulk and the Warbound (Hulk's compatriots in the World War Hulk storyline) in battle. A similar scene appears in or is referenced from a DPS in Heritage's auction. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/john-romita-jr-and-klaus-janson-world-war-hulk-2-double-splash-page-11-12-original-art-marvel-2007-/a/7166-92217.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Definitely a very busy page and another example whereby comic storylines influence today's movies.
