  1. Looks like a photo cover? Definitely the subject of a lawsuit for use without Amy Grant’s permission..
  2. Interesting to speculate on a tertiary character. I see that one copy sold in excess of $1.5K, but the most recent sale is around $550.
  3. Interesting, but the vast majority of teens that I see these days have absolutely no interest in reading anything except for video game instructions or Magic card instructions. they’re ALWAYS on their phones, discord servers, cruising the malls for a ‘hookup’ or playing video games. I time, money or interest leftover for comics
  4. Hi folks, I’m probably late to the game, mostly because I don’t follow any of the movie hype sites, but I’ve noticed some very strong prices for ASM 209, the 1st appearance of Calypso. I know she’s going to appear in the upcoming Kraven movie, and the actress has already been announced to play the part. so, is this issue really something that folks are speculating on? If so, is this just the beginning of the price hike? 🤔
  5. It was $10K for quite a while before auction’s end. It’s not as though it jumped from $2K to $10K in the last few minutes of the auction or even the day prior to auctions end.
  6. One of my favs as well, and so few know about it. I would love to own the OA for this cover!
  7. Yes, if someone were to use 2021 as a starting point, they could pick up 8.5 copies in CGC 8.5 for one copy in CGC 9.8.
  8. Based on 2021 average prices, you could purchase ‘only’ 8.5 copies in cgc 8.5 for one copy in cgc 9.8.
  9. Depends on what you mean by ‘keys’ being undervalued. There’s a lot of minor firsts in Bronze and Copper bar titles, but they seem to be relevant only to die-hard Batman collectors.
  10. I hear you, and we can certainly discuss it for some time or we can just shrug our shoulders and agree with 423 being the McBat cover that stands above all others, much like Batman 227 became the Adams Bat cover to collect.

  12. I think with CGC making 9.8’s elusive over the past 3-4 years, folks are willing to pay more for them now, in light of their ‘relative scarcity’. almost has me thinking of the increased CPR money CGC is taking on for all of the re-subs
  13. Agreed. at least folks in the States still have cheap gas to travel to shows. Here in Canada and moreso in Europe, prices are rising to ridiculous levels
  14. I recall one copy sold in Oct for $750 so it’s not that much of a stretch to hit $875. Additionally, a CPV copy sold in excess of $2K
  15. Bats 423 is the first time I recall seeing Todd ‘s introduction of a large, overflowing cape. It would turn out to be one of those unique liberties That Todd made into a recognizable McFarlane-y cover. This cover also features McFarlane pencils AND inks. Note the ‘Tec cover was not inked by Todd. Lastly, I remember seeing this image everywhere, particularly on T-shirts and moreso than the ‘Tec cover
  16. Depending on your $ sales with HA, I find they will sometimes drop the sellers fee altogether. Regardless, even accounting for the buyers premium, I do better on HA than clink. still, the clink site leaves much to be desired.
  17. Yup, it’s been like that for several years. That’s why I stopped consigning OA and Slabbed books to Clink. additionally, their site is incredibly antiquated and they have no desire to update it.
  18. Not sure how long you’ve been collecting, but the current environment reminds me of the very late 80’s/early 90’s whereby prices increased so rapidly that Overstreet had to publish quarterly updates to keep up with the price increases. BUT, prices increased so rapidly that Overstreet had to increase his publishing frequency from quarterly to bi-monthly for a few years until the market stabilized!
  19. I was the original owner of this cover, purchased directly from Bob Layton. Bob illustrated the cover first and it would have been published if Elliot R. Brown’s photo cover did not work.
