  1. I never really cared for this book. Back when I was deep into collecting Silver Age keys, this book (along with TTA 27 & ST 110) we’re always at the bottom of my list to acquire. flash forward 30 years and nothing has really changed my mind. Sure, Robert Downey Jr did a wonderful job portraying Tony Stark in the Marvel cinematic universe, but it doesn’t change my lack of interest in this book
  2. I wouldn’t be, but that’s a different conversation from whether the seller at $4.8K should be happy
  3. Thanks for posting! I had a huge laugh when I read your comment because at the end of the day, regardless of what the seller of the $4.8K copy originally paid when he purchased it, it sold for at least $1.2K less than similarly graded copies within the same week, and in a venue that charges more consignment fees than the other venues. So I don’t think congrats are in order. if this was your book, and it sold for at least 20% less than the average, would you be happy?
  4. According to the cover blurb, I suppose a pair would be called ‘Honkers’? 😂😂😂
  5. Awesome painting! Wish I bought it when Mitch had it for sale several years ago
  6. I know there's a lot of folks who post on this thread that want the price of this book to come back down to whatever amount they deem to be a 'fair' price, and they post here citing example of when the book underperforms, possibly hoping to see/start a downward trend. However, based on recent sales, the general trend has been upwards over the past 10 days and we are now very close to average sales of 9.8's at $7K. Perhaps the slew of 9.8's on Clink will lower the average or perhaps it won't. Either way, it should be interesting to see where this book ends in Jan. And once again, congrats to the buyer of the HA copy at $4.8K, and my condolences to the seller.
  7. Hi, all: My stockpile of truly affordable art for sale is dwindling, with only 5 pages on consignment at Heritage this week. All auctions end Wed, Dec 1st. I'll provide a brief description of each page, along with direct link to the page at auction. Al Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan (X-9) featuring Corrigan and the lovely Karla Kopek, as illustrated by the one and only, Al Williamson. These strips are starting to see renewed interest in the $300-$800 range. 8. Is it possible to like and dislike the Ditko Spidey splash simultaneously? Love the image. Would be better if Spidey's mask was on. Dislike the amount of space devoted to the title and text.
  9. The more great covers that I see posted on this thread, the less respect I have for the Overstreet Price Guide and their glaring omissions of covers that should have the ‘classic cover’ designation. it’s sad that this garbage Harley Quinn cover is denoted as a ‘classic cover’ in Overstreet, while almost all of the covers in this thread are not!
  10. The only time I've seen a copy with 15 cent cover price was at Jason Ewert's booth, decades ago at at Toronto show. I went to an ATM to withdraw funds to purchase the book, but when I returned, it was already sold.
  11. Sales for the ow/w copies seemed pretty strong. My regrets to the seller of the copy that sold on HA for $4.8K. Ouch!
  12. The Jim Lee promo piece really surprised me. Congrats to the seller! Seems like this auction has a lot of lots ending on Sunday, too!
