  1. there has been a long line of actresses considered for the role of Sue Storm.
  2. it was a very horribly written concept: Because of a pheromone he has she is unable to attack him. Yeah: she can't attack him because of the way he smells, so once she figures out the reason why she can't hit him she hits her own head on the desk breaking her nose and then she can kick his rear. Totally ridiculous and not one person sitting in the writing room raised their hand and said it was dumb.
  3. I don't recall Warlock's character in the comics as one that is for laughs. This is a major mistake Marvel keeps making: straying very far from the character that is known and established usually for jokes.
  4. It is almost impossible to tell if the book is trimmed by looking at a book in pictures on the internet. It could just be a badly cut book at the manufacturing stage as the Marvel cutters at that time period were terrible ( they are the reason for all the Marvel chipping ). Some potential tests you can do. Hold the book up so you are looking along where the folded pages meet. It should form a shape like this: cover |/\| cover The folded interior pages should make a peak, if the book has a significant spine roll then the pages do not form a peak, but your book appears to not have a spine roll. No interior page peak then it is either trimmed, or badly miscut at the manufacturing stage
  5. i have been using the 56pt boards from ComicProLine and I highly recommend them. They are very solid even more so than putting 2 28pt boards together. I am using them on more valuable books even for comic show inventory. Everything more than $20 value is getting these super thickness boards, and they create a nice impression for the potential buyers. As mentioned above they also sell clear plastic back boards which are 60pt thickness.
  6. makes me think of the pride flag, and I can't help but assume it is what they were going for.
  7. Powers of X #4 Greg Land variant based on the image he posted.
  8. I like the idea as well, I have several books I would send for reholders if it was in the country.
  9. even without the color loss defect, the book has several spine ticks so the book is probably worth $30 maybe $40 max.
  10. a professional inker / colorist /artist could color that section in. How much would they charge? I also assume they would not be local to you so now you are shipping it. As a professional artist myself I wouldn't take this project on because I know in advance the likelihood of matching the color perfectly is zero and as the customer would you be happy? In the end no matter how well executed the fix is I guarantee you would still notice it. Sounds simpler to buy another copy for under $100
  11. it could be done if the person you want to sign the book first registers as a creator. Then have them sign the book with CGC as witness.
  12. the information is in the graders notes and is stated as "cover cleaned", see attached examples which are the books that the Youtube user "Improve-Collecting Comics" discussed in the video posted earlier in this very thread on page 1. My guess is CGC is detecting wet cleaning residue not removed properly/entirely OR restoration that was there before the submitter even performed his cleaning to the book.
  13. These 4 books we acquired when we bought a large local collection. We had tried selling them as raw unslabbed, then during a show we looked at them and we decided to get them graded so we could sell them on an online channel.
  14. I still laugh at these super villain panels: Thanos arrested and taken away by police in handcuffs, and Darkseid mugged.
  15. I would love to see a well done Braniac film, where the serious tone of that character drives the narrative. The type of humor prevalent in the superhero films only works if the story is excellent in the first place.
  16. ...and no offense to the artist but it isn't very good. I have no issue with creating a cover like this ( I have done it a few times myself) but I think it should be mentioned in the auction that the cover is a fan-made creation attached to a real comic interior.
  17. I watch many of his videos and a few comments: -Absorene is chemical cleaning. It may be detectable by CGC now -CGC may be able to detect the blue light whitening he does -He does not know if anything was done to the book before he acquired it. -he needs to acknowledge that once the book has left his hands things can happen to it even while at CGC: it can get bumped, dropped, damaged during encapsulation, etc.
  18. Thank you for the link. I could not find the listing and I searched for completed, sold as well. Strange how Ebay works and I suspect it is because I am in a different country from the US
  19. Is that still an active Ebay listing? It is interesting to me that I am unable to find the Ebay listing.
  20. I did not like Kang in Quantumania so honestly i hope they do recast him: to a better villain. We have seen him defeated/killed already the last time by a bunch of ants. Having multiple copies of the same character doesn't make him more threatening or interesting.
  21. I recommend saving your money. You already know it will be worse than the previous film and the proof is the images that have been released. Rainbow colored space suits just is not a good idea, and the decision to do that is for what reason? Is it because it is funny ( it isn't ) so therefore my assumption is it is for toy sales.
  22. Yes, hopefully it improves what is shown. For now "Wahaaaaahhhaaaaaaa" turns me off, it isn't funny in the slightest to this old fuddy duddy. I do want the film to do well enough that they keep making content. Maybe eventually the pendulum swings back in the serious direction
