  1. The story makes me reflect on self, and all I can say is I am thrilled I didn't choose the legal profession for a career and make the kind of income that could afford to buy this quantity of comics because I likely would have. I have had a relationship end over comics.
  2. I once put a 6 inch long slice into the back cover of a F copy of Shock Suspenstories 6 putting it back into the mylar. Mylar can be sharp...be careful.
  3. you could resubmit it even with the additional defect and see a grade bump.
  4. Looks like an 8.0 to me. I wouldn't do anything
  5. I think *I* have more comics in your basement than your wife has shoes...
  6. It depends what I am sending and the value of the books. My philosophy is the less time a box is "in the system" the better, so if I am sending a shipment of valuable books I have paid for next day shipping and higher quality handling. The last box contained 25 golden and silver books and also contained several books that also didn't belong to me so I shipped it over night via purolator. My estimate is the 25 books were worth $25,000+ so to me paying a couple of hundred bucks to have it at the destination the next day is worth it to avoid all the potential pitfalls that can happen with shipping.
  7. Infinity War did have some moments in the film where the comic nerd in me went "WOW". I LOVE this scene, and it is the version of Thor I want to see more of:
  8. and they shelled out millions of dollars to make it.
  9. Thank you for connecting the dots for me. Amazing collection.
  10. This is quite the collection by a man who lived in Detroit. Do we know this collector here on the boards?
  11. I got 15 minutes into this movie and stopped watching it. Did not like what I got to see which was: 1. Shazam in a doctor's office. He is talking like the dr is a psychiatrist but he is actually a pediatrician (is that supposed to be clever?). The entire scene could be deleted and you lose nothing and it is only there to try to add a laugh and it fails miserably 2. the 2 bad people of the film go to a museum to steal a staff. The employee of the museum is this over the top very flamboyant cringe type. I just do not like the Shazam character, he is a goofball. I really was hoping to see a more serious take like the way the character was in Kingdom Come.
  12. I agree. I don't care about Echo, Agatha Harkness, or even Loki for that matter. Iger has already stated that we don't want to see sequels, and he is already wrong. Look at the box office numbers of the 3rd Spider-man movie because he isn't.
  13. I am not the original submitter of this book as it was submitted through a local comic store. These Canadian Editions of Planet Comics are very hard to come by so I am disappointed by this and do not know if sending the book back in will help because now the book is definitely not a 5.0, and I am also not sure the encapsulation process will keep the parts in place properly or just rip them further. Seems the encapsulation process is rather violent, likely similar to a vacuum forming type of mechanisation? The book had a bent bottom right corner, and a small tear at the top left. Now the bottom corner is torn off and sits in the inner well and the top left of the book has been torn off and is stuck inside between the plastic of the front and back of the inner well. It is also one of the oldest comics ever encapsulated since according to the label it is from 1900. I have had the book awhile now, but everytime I look at it it really bothers me. @CGC Mike Any suggestions?
  14. looks like encapsulation damage to me. I have a Planet Comics I submitted that had a small slight tear that became monstrous after grading during the encapsulation. Really disappointing considering how hard these canadian editions are to find in decent shape. It used to be a 5.0 Bottom right corner also now torn off.
  15. There absolutely must be some problem with the film rights and multiple higher ups meddling.
