  1. Your opinion but that is perfectly ok by me. Ned Leeds doesn't have to be a goofy chubby Asian guy to appeal to a younger audience. Flash Thompson could very easily have still been the jock bully and appealed to a younger audience who would have identified with that as bullying exists in schools today in various forms. The race of the characters was changed to ensure all demographics are included. "MJ" was supposed to be Mary Jane Watson, and no amount of Feige back peddling after the release of the movie will change my opinion on that.
  2. very smart and have adapted to paying customers. Online back issues opens that inventory to a broader client range finding more of those "completest" collectors. The rest of the store is designed for retail buying.
  3. I think the asking price is ridiculous. Other than 10-15 books the rest of the collection isn't an easy sell.
  4. Change for the sake of change. Ned Leeds has the same name but he is an over weight Asian guy ( can't wait to see him dressed as the Hobgoblin - not! ) Flash Thompson has the same name but instead of being an athletic bully he is a wealthy bully. Aunt May is the same name but is now a hot milf instead of a frail old lady. I surmise it is simply change for the sake of change and done so they could do the very prominent reveal at the ending of the film where she says "call me M.J."
  5. Yes my copy is a strong blue color, the reds are strong as well as in the color of her shoes.
  6. it is certainly how a lot of film making seems. I dare to say it: "MJ" in the Homecoming film was meant to be Mary Jane Watson. BUT: somehow after the film was done something happened that now required the change or back peddling so that now Zendaya isn't the Mary Jane Watson of the Spider-man comics in future films. Who knows what it was, but it is why we now have articles/ interviews that say "No no, she isn't Mary Jane Watson." Yeah whatever. I know better.
  7. I think it is likely, I had a CGC 7.5 House of Secrets 92 that had the notation "Bernie Wrightson written on first page in pen."
  8. Yes that box is from the Collection Drawer Company. They are hard to find here in Canada but I have managed to acquire enough that I converted my collection to them and I am happy I did. They are very sturdy, and have enough room inside for what I need. I have about 10 Magazine sized Drawer short boxes, and the 25 others are Comic sized which will easily fit Silver age and up. I have several of my Golden Age books in supergolden mylite 2's with fullback boards and those need to go into Magazine sized drawers. The absolute number one feature that I love about the drawer box system is that I have access to any and all of my books easily by simply pulling the interior box from the shell. The shell is sturdy and supports the weight of other boxes on top of them without the interior box easily. They are more expensive, but to me the convenience of access is very much worth it. I ordered plastic stick back pouches that I stuck on the box fronts and I can take out whatever label card I have made. If they have a negative, it can be a little difficult to get the box all the way out of the shell. Putting the box back into the shell is a little easier unless it is heavy due to being full of books and can be more difficult due to the weight of the box.
  9. I met him at the Calgary Expo a few years ago. Definitely a character. I picked up this book from the first piece of his collection offered. Gave it to a friend for his birthday.
  10. I use a magazine sized drawer box for my magazines. The 4 mil mylars do fit. I also have room along the side for a CGC magazine sized slab. Hope this helps.
  11. I added one of them to my Conan magazine collection as well. Not cheating.
  12. That is awesome, as said: more pics please!
  13. I am at a 4.0 Can't call a book with rusty staples and in that grade range a fine.
  14. The Chamber of Chills books are another great example of the run up. I paid $200 for a Chamber of Chills 23 in April 2015 that was about a 5.0. Now that is a $1500 (??) book.
  15. It is a trend I have been noticing for about 2 years now. Prices running up on classic GA covers. My copy:
  16. Yeah you always seem to have a sales thread going. Then you are a "thrill of the hunt" collector?
