  1. This is the pic from the last time it sold on Heritage in 2021 for 780 00 plus tax. Why am I selling a L.B. Cole book in 2023 for less than 2021 prices? I just upgraded to a 6.0 I got from Lone Star Comics down there in Arlington. I heard they sell more comics than anyone.
  2. Blue Bolt Weird Tales CGC 4.0 - $750.00 Two scans of the cover because my scanner leaves glare on one edge of the holder.

  4. Hi Aman, do you think that's what it is? Well obviously you do so disregard that question. I've never noticed that pre- grade on any other label. It does seem to be the most likely meaning. Seems kind of a useless thing. I wonder if a book they thought was a 1.8 came back a 3.5 they'd say pre 1.8
  5. I don't think so. From the trailer I saw according to the son and his mother the dad locked up tight. It wasn't until his passing that they knew what was in there. They knew it was comics and cards but I don't think much more than that. I don't recall the son saying he was into comics at all. Even back when he accumulated a lot that stuff it really wasn't "cheap" relative to the general cost of living and average wages. I don't know where he got the dough for the good stuff and still supported a family.
  6. The colors look so bright on that one. Incredible example that one. If your not gonna show it off I will. Hope you don't mind.
  7. Yep, that's just the way it evolved I suppose. Most of the GA consigners choose the other two. Pay a little more commision but the books usually sell for top dollar. CL does charge a 10% commision which is very fair. I grabbed 4 books this month. I'm going through a patriotic hero phase.
  8. Just grabbed this wacky L.B . Passed on the Speed 19 but it wen't kinda cheap. Only 7 on the census.
  9. Haha. Why do I have the feeling you already have? If so break'em out man!
  10. If you listen close enough you can hear a lonesome slide guitar and a hawk's cry around here. Is nobody winning anything on Comiclink anymore?
  11. Yep. It's like Holyfield/Bowe 1992. When I saw the Daring 1 was coming a few months ago I had hopes of acquiring it. But I didn't bid because I was pretty sure I would be going head to head with someone with a stronger chin than mine. By chin I mean bank account. Had I decided to go for it most likely the book would have topped 15,000 and I still would have lost. Just being realistic. Hoping a moderate resto comes around one day.
  12. Yeah it was in a nice spot. I guess if you wan't any of this run now, especially 1 through 5, you just have to keep going until the other person/s throw in the towel. It's like a slugfest. Hey S! Yes with Marvel Mystery 3 as you know. But I think with a much cooler cover. I'd take Daring 1 over MM 3 any day. A 2.5 MM3 went for over 12k in December and a 2.5 Daring 1 for just under 8k six months prior, both on CC. The MM3 was a Cosmic A and the Daring 1 had tape on the spine but it was clean and bright. Still a big difference. 13k for a 4.0 tonight. Not a bad score for the new owner I guess.
  13. What these Daring Mysteries? The #4 went high. #5 maybe even kind of low. #1 I still think is kind of undervalued. Compared to a lot of other stuff that is.
  14. Hi Sqeggs. Yeah I've tried that and failed more than once. Never again!. But in order to do that you need to crack it first. In that case it would get a new number. I guess you can send them a 5.0 for example still in the holder and let them crack it and regrade it, but then they know it was already graded a 5.0 . I prefer the sneeky way.
  15. Thanks, for a 4.0 it's not bad. I've also been looking for around a 6.0 to 7.0 or even higher, graded or ungraded, that has the colors this book should have. Me, you, and probably a bunch of other people out there.
  16. HA's pics are usually too cold, and CC's are usually too hot. I would bet the colors on that 9.0 112 are just right. Good luck BB.
  17. It's especially tricky with so many Cole covers because of the crazy vivid colors. I recently bought a Blue Bolt Weird Tales 117 on e bay. Top pic is from e bay, middle from HA in 2021, bottom my scan from my old hp that leaves glare no matter what I do. In hand the colors don't quite live up to either image but my scan is the closest.
  18. Amazing how quickly some of these 1950's corpses decomposed.
  19. I got this one in tonights Comiclink Spring auction. Pretty neat cover. Just 100 bucks more than the same book sold for in 2019 on HA. The dark pic is from CL and the bright one's are from HA in 2019. Not sure what the sticker says.
  20. Well if the staple or staples were removed and moved to adjust the wrap I would think two new staple holes would have to be created or would be created. In the case of the 9.0 there because it's comiclink we can't see the back of the book. Worldwide has no back cover scan either.
  21. Pretty sure it has shifted. Can that be done with pressing or would the staples or staple need to be removed?
  22. So glad that guy wouldn't climb the ladder to get those Captain Marvels.
