yeah  like the Pharaohs, hire contractors to build you a hidden storage space...  but dont forget to kill them all when they are done.  Its not pretty, but it works.

Just like Batman did with the workers who built the Batcave. To the OP I hope you find a place that works for you. Just be sure the humidity and temperature inside is maintained.

  2. Black, White. Gay ,Straight. 8.0, 8.5. What's with all these labels man? :peace:

It's a beauty and some wealthy person is going to win it. But remember they are just a custodian. If I had that book I'd go on tour with it. Me and several heavily armed guards. Ex military types.

Share it with everyone but charge a small fee (to cover the cost of the armed guards). I mean I'd probably be nearly broke after spending around 8 million for a stupid comic. :roflmao:

Like 25.00 bucks for 5 minutes alone in a room with the book. Well the book and the armed guards. And no touching.

  3. Hey everyone. If anyone here uses gocollect here is my problem. Whenever I try to open a cover gallery on the site I get an error - 404 Not Found. I can search for any single book and find the info on it but when I click to open a cover gallery for a series I get the error page. Anyone else having this same problem? I tried different browsers and same thing.

For example this is Batman 1. https://gocollect.com/app/comic/batman-1

The individual book page opens fine for me. But if I click on the word Batman above the picture of the book and it should open the entire cover gallery.

I was hoping a few of you could try it to see if you get the same error page when clicking on the word Batman . I have a like 250 cover galleries in my bookmarks all by order of date released and now they are useless. Thanks:peace:

  4. All comics are going to deteriorate inside the holder over time. Brittle ones just have a nice headstart. A really smart boardie here taught me that the most important thing is to avoid big changes in humidity and temperature.

Buy a thermometer/barometer and try to avoid large fluctuations in temp/humidty where you store your books.

I didn't bid on or follow any GA Superhero, but I was blown out of the water on all of my 20 GA bids. And these were simply "I'd like to own that" not "gotta have it."

How did SA and BA fare?

From what I saw other than the "grail" type books most continued to go down in price, at least Silver and early Bronze. I tune out at around 1971.

I'm more in favor of cvr clean and interior lightened than pcs added and color touch

cvr clean by today's standards merits Conserved

Sure me too. This book looks like it didn't need any cleaning I guess was my point. It's like a moderate that has a lot of little restorations , I best it wasn't a bad looking book before it got worked on.

my bid was placed 1 week before end of auction

Oh man that is sad to see. I actually thought it would hit 50,000. The restoration looks good from the notes and a lot of it is on the back cover. No cleaning or lightening. Not much color touch or any work on the cover other than the spine. Looks like it could be 6.0 to me.  The perfect copy for someone who want's a real pretty example and doesn't want to spend a half million dollars.

From the bid history it looks like the high bidder put an insurance bid on top of their already high bid of 46,000, just speculating but if that was me I would have bumped my insurance bid to put it just over 50.

I never could figure out how a non-war cover got that price in the first place

Definitely one of the "goofier" covers

Bat 25? I like it but everytime I see it I think of Johnny Cash. That's not even a joke, I really do. Love is a burnin thing.

Two Punch 12's in the next auction seems to much which is getting like the Mask books to me.I fear the sellers don't make out when this happens we will see.

Yep, a 4.5 and 5.5. You're right they really shouldn't do that. Also the 4.5 SB will probably go before the 5.5 C/OW which will hurt the 4.5 even more I believe. If it was to go after the 5.5 it probably would get at least a few bids from the underbidders of the 5.5. I mean why go for a SB when a Cream is coming up in like 10 seconds.

Hey C how ya been? Ah bummer. You have been outbid on this item, some of the saddest words ever put in print.  Seriously I wish you had gotten it. Nice 3.

Just went through the issue on the digital museum, no puppets.  Mr. Nobody was kind of like a background "I know what's going on" character as things unfolded.  So it also speaks to our "host" in the series.  LB Cole sig on this page:

Hey, for some reason I can't load that site. I read it here https://comicbookplus.com/?cid=1088

Probably just a cool idea for a cover that L.B. thought up. Puppets on a string.
