I love that quote "Hottest book on the planet at the moment". (thumbs u
Brian (Foolkiller) has a much nicer 4.5 that he'll sell for $1950 as a thanks to all of the interest in his massive FS thread.

Who's going to be the next 6.0+ member? This auction is ending today.
So there was one bid at 5K but from a (0) rated buyer. Actual sale?

Well, that was a bit disappointing.....
How so??? Right in line with valuations...
Below is a list of the current estimate prices I think SC22 should be valued at. Of course, the prices are for cream/off white pages, but if your copies have higher page quality add a 10%-25% premium.

9.0 $40000-50000
8.5 $30000-35000

Showcase 22 CGC 8.0 Mound City copy $17000 plus 5% buyers commission.
Corrected that for you...so $17,850.
-
Since I already have two offers from two different dealers at $8500 for my Show 22 7.0, I think the 8.0 will be up near $20k.
Have we seen your 7.0
I don't believe the club has ever seen Foolkiller's 7.0 off-white copy yet. It would be a pleasure to see Foolkiller's copy since it's in the 6.0 and above club (one of the few which we have not seen yet).
You should see his 8.0.
Are you saying he's going for the Mound Copy or what....?
He was making a joke -- possibly even a double entendre about the size of his wee-wee.
Here's the 7.0 o/w -- PM him if anyone is interested as it's "for sale":
-
Sunday is the BIG DAY for the 8.0 Mound City copy...so, any predictions?!?
Please post the hammer price when anyone finds out!
-
No, they had one and then they were sold another, and then they had two -- both below 4.0.
-
always nice to see SC 22's pop up
Have you come across any new ones lately?
Were there any copies at the New York show this weekend?
I saw a small handful but certainly none in HG or even above 4.0
-
don't forget the 7.0 ow that Foolkiller also has
-
I've noticed a huge surge in Showcase #22 submissions. I've graded 8 copies today alone! I wonder if this thread had anything to do with that?
West
What were the grades??
-
No...now that's the bar for a 5.5 that all other valuations will be based on...unfortunate for those of us still looking for a copy or two...though I'm sure this final price will seem cheap 6 months from now...

Showcase #22 1st app Green Lantern (DC, 1959) CGC 5.5
Winning bid: US $3,803.54

I give honorable mention to Dave Mandel's "if I can afford women like these" ad in the Weist price guide
Anyone have a link or could post this ad?
-
Wow $1200 for a 3.0!?!? Seems high no?
Harley is asking $1400 and it's probably a 4.0 because of the stain otherwise it's a very presentably copy with nice PQ. No higher than a 4.0 though due to the stain.
-
If anyone has one to sell -- raw or cgc'd -- please let me know! Cash in hand -- no time payments!

Perhaps it was the #182 to the brothers Donnelly?

As has been discussed previously, the GSXmen #1 cover had sold but Len still owned the complete interiors to #181 -- which were destroyed in the fire.

One of the best pages of the last 7 issues and it foreshadows what's to come...

Butt remember -- in ST #114 -- that's the Acrobat -- not Cap. And the costume is slightly altered in the issue to underline the distinction. That still makes this a historic cover!
I wonder if the original art to this still exists?!?
