  2. anyway, i think the whole china thing can get dealt with. mephisto just gets rewritten as some super powered guy from another dimension who has been tricking humanity for 4000 years into thinking he is a fallen angel. for criminey sake, didn't Mulan have something akin to a demon?
  3. he might also be how Agatha gets snapped out of her trance .. there's still hope...
  4. regular humans who are terrified of super humans is a pretty constant theme in marvel (and DC) comics, particularly ones with world wrecking abilities. they might idolize captain america who is just really strong, etc., but the other ones...
  5. FF's point is that the kids were not "real", but he did plenty of other bad stuff
  6. But she hasn't given up on her kids. Witch wanda, whether doing this unconsciously, in the astral plane, or intentionally outside her body is clearly trying to figure out how to get her kids back. Frankly, getting vision back is less hard. he is out there with all his memories intact. you just need to give him a soul/emotions ... holy krapola, MEPHISTO!
  7. Yeah, all we saw was a terrified guy who snapped out of his trance, a 1 minute end credit scene with him hinting that he might be realizing he is in the wrong world and maybe has his powers would have been a huge juicy bone for fanboys to chew on for years and made a lot of people happy
  8. dude, you have to watch these end credits ALL THE WAY TO THE END... split personality stuff going on
  9. yes, he was supposed to have taken it safely away into another dimension to keep it away from humans (and even androids) who were inevitably warped by it
  10. no, the finale is the sort of show you wanted the whole series to be (ok, i can't get into your head, but yeah, its more like a marvel movie)
  11. We will find out when she meets Nick in space in a movie in 6 years ... or maybe Captain Marvel 2. But if she knew she had powers, why was fakePietro able to detain her so easily?
  12. War crimes defense lawyer. You were born for it. Kidnapping and imprisoning an FBI agent who was trying to do his job? Fabricating evidence and outright lying about Wanda stealing vision? Putting vision back together was a violation of international treaty --- the Sakovia Accords.
  13. It was always a long shot, given China and all, but even if it was, why would it be such a big deal? One appearance in the 9th episode of a show, clearly not related to any of the movies, blah blah. The implication is we may see Agatha again. And white vision is out there, still, unless he flew himself into the sun, so those West Coast Avengers 45s....
  14. Before I read 11 hours of comments I'm just gonna say I am a little disappointed. Not that what was done was bad. I just wanted more. Dumping Quicksilver like a plate of burnt toast seemed like a waste of an opportunity. And there's no way she can keep Agatha in a mind trap indefinitely. All the Avengers eventually snapped out of it. All she has to do is accidentally wander into her own basement and she probably snaps out of it. And i couldn't find the 9 copies of Avengers 186 I know I own anyway.
  15. RUNDMC you had lyrics you could sing at the dinner table and not get punched in the face by dad
  16. It is absurd in that it isn't necessarily a market based reality, but just censorship. True, maybe the market agrees with the censors, who knows, we won't get the chance to find out. That Joker made over a billion with no Chinese screens is amazing. I don't think I'm kidding when I say French fans probably saw it 6 times. Mind you, I'm not sure how that would play in China anyway. Its a movie about mental illness and hopelessness. Of course, the Chinese "art house" crowd is probably half the size of the United States, so still a big market.
  17. I have to admit I owned one of those Timely Schomburg books with a really racist cover. The Japanese had fangs and the black character.. well you know. Ultimately after a couple of years I decided I shouldn't keep it in my collection. Selling it for 2x what i paid helped that decision, of course.
  18. to clarify, i'm an almost 50 year old still listening to that stuff. i'm not really listening for lyrics at this point. appetite for destruction is maybe one of the greatest albums of all time. if you take all the lyrics at face value, yikes...
  19. the stuff about happy slaves was practically pushed as history in southern textbooks into the 50s. i even read some geriatrics on facebook saying stuff like that.
  20. well, clearly they are related in a general sense that they have the same name, but DC decided to have any chance as a regular series they had to completely change the original lame concept into a different lame concept, like suicide squad was changed from the 60s version to the 80s super villian version because nobody wanted to read about a bunch of regular joes being put on a suicide squad.
  21. "What kids are filling their heads with today is pure toxic soul-killing poison." I was a teen listening to Guns & Roses and Metallica. G&R had an awful lot of drug glorification and misogynism. Metallica's earlier stuff had an awful lot of murder and mayhem in it.
  22. well, it is sort of comparing apples to oranges (racism to porn). I am anti racism. I have no problem with porn in principle. I'd like to not expose young kids to it, true. And its probably good business decision to retire these particular books from publication. As for the cop killer stuff, I imagine ebay might take issue with that too. I can't really defend the lyrics. Record labels should put pressure to stop that sort of stuff.
